JRM Internet - El Matorral

Please note: Anybody in the Caleta or Surrounding Area, JRM are having overload problems.
Their success means they have far too many clients now in the Caleta Area and the Server cannot handle the volume. Two years ago wasn't a problem, but now everybody is trying to stream Television on their TV Boxes at the same time, Corrie, Football, Olympics etc.
Their Quality of Service has gone right down, and at the moment they don't have a solution other than deter new clients. So if you're suffering from constant Buffering, you're not the only one.
Instead of 8 - 10 Mb download like before, now you can expect anything between 2 and 5, depending upon the traffic. If you're getting frustrated, there's nothing they can do until they have a much more powerful Server. When that is, they don't know.

JRM Internet down again in El Matorral. So unreliable.  :'(

Archer

I hope they only charge you the 2meg rate. And when it's down give a refund for lost time. They sound like a disaster!
In rural areas they sell it as NetService, or at least piggyback off it. Is that as unreliable?

Paying JRM for 10mg download. Did speed test today and getting 0.03. Would not recommend at moment

FRY

Been like that for 3 or 4 months. I'm paying for 10 Mb/s.  It's up and down like a Jo Jo, mostly down, especially when there's a football match on. I just tested 5 times in 5 minutes. Here are the results.

3.33 Mb/s
3.80 Mb/s
5.66 Mb/s
3.09 Mb/s
5.00 Mb/s

The price for 6 Mb/s is the same as 10 Mb/s I think, so no point in paying the lowere price for 4 Mb/s as the speed will probably go down either further. I'm speaking to the guy on Monday to sort it out. Past the joke now.

Just for interest.. I had no problems at all with JRM, was using them for years. Now they have ¨merged¨with Net Service , This is NOT a merger. I have just had a very disgusting conversation with the supposed lawyer for Net service, who in fact is only the Gerente, and has no legal knowledge whatsoever. Customer service NIL, attitude worse, even came up with the comment that if I wasn't happy with Spain I could go back... to where?? I am Spanish !
Apparently I hadn't paid yet all payments are direct debit. They were not even capable of a phone call, email, sms just cut off the service in the middle of a working day. Call them? 902 number , prime rate. Send an incident report to which they will answer in 4-7 hours? 36 hrs later, nothing. ....  My contract was with JRM, who gave a really good service in my area. Have now reverted to Vodafone, whose technical service was brilliant. Unfortunately, as with most multinationals we are all a number anyway. But better a number than a nobody.
Last comment re Net Service .. Stay Away.

Prior Game SL - google it. That's who netservice are part of.

doesn't look good at all as main business seems to be casino/gambling. Running out of options AGAIN for decent internet!!

45 euros / month for 10 meg download.

BUT: Since they went with Netservice, it's total rubbish. I have no choice as I'm in Matorral with no landline.
Luckily I'm still in touch with Daniel who has fixed two "conflicts" over the last two weeks. The speeds are up and down like YoYos, with lots of buffering. Not happy with them at all.
As I've said before, they have too many clients for the capacity of their servers, brought on by too many contracts with Holiday Complexes. They don't seem to like spending their money on upgrading their servers to meet demands.

We are in Caleta, and pay â,¬43 monthly for 8/10 Mbs normally 8.5 Mbs {enough to run Kodi + my PC and madams Kindle] it includes a landline free coals to all Spanish land line numbers, and 5 hurs a month of international calls.

Why free coal, is it a new offer ?

Johnrgby2

OK relied on my spell checker, and as coals is a word there we go, but the way the Temperature is at the moment, might not be a bad offer :D

You obviously have a landline. I've been wating 15 years in the house I'm in now, for Telefonica to connect me. Seems they don't want the business  :'(

The deal included them putting in a landline, I cannot remeber how much the installation cost, but around â,¬60/70 sounds familier

If you can't wait for a line & you don't need to stream tv all day, then 4g en casa from Orange is great. We are happy so far. Over 30meg speed and piece of cake to install. No waiting.
They have an offer of 50% discount for 3 months. Less than 30â,¬ per month (â,¬15 with discount). You get 35g per month allowance which is enough for about 1 hour tv per day on Android box plus all the net surfing you need. You can buy additional 5g add-ons.
Don't put up with poor service & threats from NetService/JRM.  ;)

woe10

How many gigs does a 2 hour (including half time) football match need.

Archer

Woe. No idea for certain, but my experience is that when we put iplayer on the smart tv it ate up the data, so we reverted back to the Androud box and it seems to use approx 1.5g on a 2hr film.
The good thing is that with Orange en Casa, they show you your usage daily, so you can manage it to month end, or go mad if like us you go back to the UK frequently.
Unfortunately, you can't carry over unused data to the next month, but you can buy extra data. Still cheaper than Netservice for medium usage (& faster).
