Pedestrian crossing

As far as I know all these zebra crossings that Fuerteventura is so blessed with are for pedestrians.
You get used to the people standing at a crossing enjoying the view but without the intention to cross the street,
the people who decide half way to turn around,
the people who walk very slow,
the large famalies keeping a very respectful distance from each other.

But what always freaks me out are the cyclists using the zebra crossings.
You hardly see them coming and they just cross  the street at great speed without looking.

In the UK only pedestrians have right of way on a pedestrian crossing. If a cyclist rides across one you are at liberty to run them down, as long as you drive carefully, that is.

Same applies here, I believe. I know someone who knocked a woman off her bike on a crossing. Cyclist called the police and they booked her, not the car driver!

It's illegal for a cyclist to ride across a crossing. Once it is mounted, a bicycle is classed as a moving vehicle like any other. He has to walk it across.
