I don't think you can beat El Capitans (opposite Barcelo Hotel) It has an indoor restaurant but we always eat at the outside terrace tables. Good food, good (real) sangria, sunshine and a few hours people watching  8) 8) ;D

Tripadvisor reviews here, placed #9 out of 106 Caleta restaurants  also

+1 for El Capi, they  have live music on most nights which we like as well.  :D

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

Cafe del Town opposite the San Jorge hotel is excellent for tapas, but it is on a building site at the moment.
The food is brilliant, the staff very friendly and very reasonable prices.

I prefer to call it 'Rustic', a few germs never did anybody any harm. Never had all these sick kids and allergies when we were kids. Germs are what build your immune system up.  :P

Had many a good night in there and not a fart out of place.EDIT 09/11/2022 Now closed

It now has a 5* food hygeine rating..as  you go in to order your food you can see into the kitchens...you only have to look at the reviews there on TA..no 9 out of 106 restaurants aint too bad
ps The toilets are immaculate (other than if you've been in them just before me BF  ;) )

Caleta - plenty of Full English and Sunday Roasts but very few bars with Tapas. Three so far. The best on the island is La Bodega De Jandia in Moro Jable. Long way away!
Here, what's wrong with Sunday Roasts anyway?

Thank you BS for proving my point. Ignorance is bliss!

As a Resident, I can tell you the best tapas in Caleta is The Tapas Restaurant, next to the cake shop on the other side of the road from the bus station.

I've heard good things too about the one opposite San Jorge..and we did used to go to the one next to dulce leche until a plate of canarian potatoes came out with a fly welded to the side of one one of the potatoes Showed it to the waiter and he picked it off but that completely put us off thanks.
