WELCOME. 
Although more people speak English here than the UK I would advise you both learn Spanish.
Do not get sucked in with cheap alcohol as I have seen so many ex pats fall into this trap.
Your husband should take ANY job rather than live a life of leisure as savings disappear quickly.

Thanks everyone for the helpful stuff, Husband is learning Spanish as I type, and I grew up with a Spanish father so lucky in that respect of being Bilingual
