Whats the best TV system to get UK TV

I do have a TV in Fuerte and have used all systems including dish/UKTV/android/ZKTV and I must say that the best of the lot has been ZKTV. Paul of ZKTV chased problems with telefonica and also pointed me in the direction of getting a free mobile phone and free phone calls and cheap calls back to the UK. Different people have different needs, some are not so technology competent as others and need more help. My language skills are not good enough to deal with the problems I had with telefonica and ZKTV handled these for me.

New people on the forum, may not now be so lucky in being directed towards ZKTV and have to follow the route of other members who used trial in error to find a service which suited them. I remember when there was very little choice of UK television fortunately that has changed. To be happy that one representative of one service is apparently banned seems myopic, as the more options for people to choose from is a good thing.

Livia Altman is a Swiss ice hockey player very famous over there,
It took a long time for people to realise she was ZKTV.
Android box is they way to go I have one here and one in the UK best and cheapest solution.

I think a while back i responded to one of the posts asking how the ice hockey was going......unusually no reply to that one.
My main gripes with this poster was the selective information that was posted which was always designed to say that everything else was wrong and their system was the only way forward. Those who have the system I hope all works well for you and should anyone post asking for info (which will tend to be the less technically savvy) they will now get a choice of personal recommendations. Nothing to stop someone PMíng with Paul/Livia/Thor/TVtenerife/??? mobile number. (no point trying to contact ZKTV office direct as this looks to me like a shared office in a building in Zurich (at least the address on the webpage/blog comes up as that. I would have thought someone with direct contracts with Zurich Kabel TV and Virgin etc would have a higher profile but what do I know.

The taking over of threads and providing mis-leading information (some facts and a lot of speculation) by whoever promotes this system was not limited to just this forum although they lasted a bit longer here than the countless others where I have found them under various guises. Did actually compare info given on a couple of different forums (prior to the posts being deleted and they must be one hell of a network as they appeared to have the servers in Zurich and also head end equipment located in the telefonica central exchange in Madrid and somewhere else. They should just be honest and sell the system as what it is (paying to advertise naturally). Receiving pay TV services without the appropriate contract with the service provider is illegal as is the viewing of copyrighted material without the owners consent (movies series etc) Just about everybody knows this and it is our choice whether we do it with its (admittedley slim) risks. The method is irrelevent, card share, download, kodi/xbmc/streams/torrents etc etc etc.

Do you need a VPN connection to watch Live TV using an android box?

No, you don't need a VPN to watch live TV on an android box. However if you want to watch the BBC, ITV etc. i players you do need one, but there are many available, some at no cost.

So if I wanted to watch live BBC and didn't want to use a VPN service, would I use Filmon which would be presumably installed on the box, or is there another app?

Filmon is one that can be used. Some use IPTV Stalker. And there are other addons that allow most channels to be viewed with little or no buffering.

In fairness to ZKTV, it is an effective and easy to use system.

What grinds my gears is the numerous accounts they've set up on here in order to hold 'pretend conversations' promoting and advocating the service. It's sneaky. I don't like or trust people that prove themselves to be sneaks.

As regards the legality of it - if they are genuinely Swiss then they have a different set of laws - basically any unencryted free to air TV service that can be received in Switzerland, can be redistributed legally - there is an App called Zattoo that does exactly this, repackaging UK, French, German and Italian TV in to one single streaming TV App, all perfectly legit. In fact it's available on the Swiss Appstore.

So the core ZKTV package probably was legal initially.

Today though, with all of the other nefarious add-ons they're now offering, poor quality stolen movies, dodgy sports streams etc, it's certainly now guilty of multiple cases of copyright theft.

I have a ZKTV subscription, I won't be renewing, mostly because the illegality of their dodgy add-on services means they could get shut-down any minute. You might wish to consider that before you sign up to the annual contracts they are now pushing - because I'd be fairly certain there won't be any refunds if they do ever get busted.

That and their sneaky sales tactics on here, means I no longer find them a worthy recipient of my hard-earned.

Could it maybe just be that some people like myself are just happy with the service ZKTV provide? As I have said before I have no connection with ZKTV whatsoever, I am just happy that they solved a problem for me. If anybody doesn't believe me please PM me and I will send them my payMent slip for the next 3 months.
I want to be able to watch my TV, not play with it!  Many of the other systems from what I understand require a lot of faffing about - if someone can prove otherwise then I will be delighted to know about them and perhaps they can post  on here how these systems are used. I would much rather not pay out â,¬20 a month for TV but at the moment it's the best option for me. But if someone can point to another system that I can simply switch in my TV, press '1' and get BBC1 then let me know. Oh, and I also want catchup TV as well because most if the time we use this facility on ZKTV.
I don't know the legalities of it all but as a license payer in the UK I don't think I am doing anything illegal, and if the service is cut for any reason, the most I will ever lose is the 3 months payments. There are other IPTV systems being offered and I can't comment on how good these are although I have heard good things. Some of them however do require a full 1 years advance payment, With ZKTV I only pay 3 months.
The other thing I like is that if you are not using the service for a full month, they will switch if off for you and extend it for another month at the end.

I am reading this thread with interest, moving forward with our property purchase so telephone / broadband / TV on the list to sort but not a priority

What I find annoying is that having paid our TV licence and Sky subscription in the UK if we are over on Fuerteventura we can't be using our UK TV's so why can't you use an account such as Sky Go anywhere, with technology today they should be able to see you are not using your UK equipment, to simple I suspect

Our next door neighbour who comes over 2/3 times a year is in a similar situation to you. She uses Sky Go over here, but has to use a VPN to disguise where she is. The one she uses is 'Tunnelbear', it's simple to install and use, I use it myself. The cost is minimal, it can either be free with limitations, or if you go for the premium package with no holds barred the cost is about £3 per month (you pay 50 US dollars yearly ). My neighbour uses a tablet to access the TV.

Thanks Terry M, I have already researched and download 'TunnelBear' to try when we are next out on the Island and will upgrade to get the better service if it works ok.

I have also invested in a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter V2 for displaying image on the TV from my Laptop without all the hassle of trailing leads.

I will keep you posted.
