They usher them away, we don't want chavs and layabouts on the TV you know.   :D

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

What a load of codswallop number two, the apartments could have been in any Spanish resort. I thought the programme was supposed to show a bit about the locality, the producer seemed to forget that bit . Why didn't the couple ask relevant questions, such as "Why are all of the complexes deserted, not a human in sight" or "How much is the annual upkeep", or "How long has the swimming pool been getting renovated" or "How many of the apartments are occupied" or "Do you trust the Estate Agent as far as you could throw him/her" or "How much over and above the £60,000 will I have to fork out" little things like that.

What should happen is the minimum of:
Show the beauty of the Island for 10 mins leading into the programme i.e. the beaches, the mountains, the sunsets at El Cotilo, the Carnivals and atmosphere, the main street in Correlajo on a Saturday night, talk to ex pats, go on a Catamaran trip over to Lobos or something more than four 1 bed roomed apartments in deserted complexes talking to a lovely Brummie lady and her "Me, me,me or I forgot me" partner".

Its a good probability that half of those that watch it rarely get their backsides off the sofa let alone have any intention of buying a place in the sun. The producers are only worried about the entertainment factor and not the information factor. Take it for what it is.... a bit of light entertainment that just happens to be about a place you like. If you want to find out about the true workings of the way Fuerteventura real estate is conducted you're looking in the wrong place.

Don't forget to ask them whether you can trust an estate agent. And if you ask where everyone is and they say down the beach...don't believe them. ;)

erik_tonny

and wonder about the language in the streets; it may sound a little spanish but isn't it italian?

Archer

Windermere. You want to know a surefire way to tell if an Estate Agent is lying? Their mouth will move!  :D

bluefox

gotta be the worst one i've seen, that new presenter was less than useless, tho' the apts in horseshoe bay are quite nice, but as we know it's in the middle of nowhere and no one'd buy there, caleta they hardly shown, from the start you could see that couple were never going to buy and has said they never tell people there's at least 10% on top of the purchace price, it gave a poor ilpression of fuerte. :(  >:(

Tamkid

They could do so much better, the number two format hasn't changed in donkeys years, who wears a Lumberjack shirt in Fuerteventura? ref the presenter.

MinRich

I agree the presenter was next to useless . Can't believe they viewed one apartmwnt in a complex then went away to another and then came back to the same complex to look at another one !

It was the Place In The Sun of Fuerteventura that prompted us to move there - we thought it was very good and can't wait to get out there.   Angela and Mike x

And it will be this forum that persuades you not to!

That's what the resident pc brigade says anyway.
