A gigantic new chrome tubular sculture was errected today on the approach roundabout into Jandia strip. It rotates in the wind - quite impressive, and replaces the old wrestlers! There were still a few bits on the floor, tonight. Either they fell off, or the guys don't know where they go.  :D
Pajara seem to have plenty of dosh to spend.

Spike On Q

Is it the one that used to be at the northern entrance to Costa Calma?  It was taken down a year ago to make room for the new Autovia

Saw this yesterday. We arrived at 10:30am and three men were working on it. When we left at 4:00pm it was exactlly the same.....they had got no further with it!!  ;D

There's the problem, there should be one working and the other two standing watching and directing operations.  ;D

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

What about the Police? They have to stand around, as well.

You are correct Spike it is the same one that used to stand outside Costa Calma. I think they forgot to number the parts as they seem to have a couple of pieces that they are not sure where they are meant to go. As usual it seemed to take 10 men to watch one person working.

All seemed finished and working this afternoon - I thought it looked lovely. Would make a nice focal point in my garden if they wanted to move it again  ;D

I heard all those turbines are used to power the lighthouse :D

Oops - forgot to stop for that pic, sorry. Perhaps someone who is down that way could take one and post - it's quite a trip from Corralejo for 1 pic  ;D

Yes I know, it should have been a KFC.   :D

At least they hid it behind the Petrol Station at the Atlantico rather than putting it in Caleta itself.

I hope you drove through the mountains from Pajara to La Pared [named after the wall built to keep the two tribes [Franky Goes to Hollywood - June 1984] apart in the olden days, as the colours are stunning at the moment.

[Bit like the one between Scotland and England built by a bloke called Adrian, hence Adrian's Wall]

I tried to load a photo, but it wouldn't take from my Galaxy Tab. Prob finger trouble! :-X

Yep, Corralejo, Puerto, Antigua, Pajara, Ajuy for lunch, La Pared, crossed back to East coast, Jandia/Morro Jable, La Lajita for coffee on return and back to Corralejo. That was Saturday and much as I enjoyed it I didn't fancy the drive again on Sunday for the forgotten pic!

Photo hopefully linked. The sculpture is called Fobos and is by Cesar Enrique
