I love fuerte and on my recommendation many friends have come over the years. I also love el cotillo
and have been there many times
However this year I was sitting alone while my husband went back to the car for his hat when a young man came right up to where I was sitting and exposed himself in my face
I am a older lady and was very frightened and alarmed at this behaviour
just to warn any females who may be sitting on their own
no jokes please. it was very scary. I did not go back to el cotillo for the rest of my holiday

The key point you seem to have missed is that naturism isn't the same as exposure.  The two things are different.  So the title of your post may be misleading.

No, it should read "Hello it's me again" The naturist section troll, & not a very good one

BORING

What's worse than a troll?

A troll with no imagination.

And worse than that, an unimaginative troll that can't even use the right Forum section.
This one is supposed to be about how to work the forum.

Could do better - - - - - - - but don't bother

I'm sure that you'll be back for another try before too long

How did you all know that was the same person or was indeed a troll?

Does her/his IP address show up etc?

isleswing

Just relying on the coincidence that they joined and posted within hours of a previous, similar thread was deleted by admin.
Make what you will, of that.

If I'm shown to be wrong, then I hereby offer an unreserved apology.

An alternative to my original post.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience, it would have been very unsettling for you. I hope you reported it to the appropriate authorities, so that they know what is happening.

I'm sure it's an isolated incident, as it almost never gets mentioned on here. Indeed in our last eight annual holidays, with half of our beach days being on El Cotillo lagoons, we've never had anything like it, with Mrs Wing spending a fair amount of time on her own, while I swim, snorkel or go for walks.

Please don't let your holiday be defined by this one incident; think of the good times you had. Lazing in the sun in a beautiful place. making new friends - El Cotillo in particular is a very sociable place, as you'll have found. Good meals. Sightseeing. So many good points about your holiday, why not tell us all about some of those, as well.

Please also remember, being naked is not the same as naturism or nudism (these are, by any definition, a lifestyle which does not include behaviour such as you experienced)

I would like to thank the last post for their kindness and understanding and I would like to tell the person that wrote the insulting comments is really wrong
My husband and I have been visiting Fuerteventura for 14 years and we love it. We stay for long stay holidays and self cater thus being the kind of tourists that bring in a lot of money to the fuerte economy
We have met a lot of ex pats and they have become our friends and it was one of them that suggested I join the forum and warn other people about this incident
I do know the difference between naturism and exposure. naturism is healthy exposure is not.
in the uk it would be called flashing and would be a criminal offence.
I have lots of lovely and helpful comments that I could share and would have had I not received such a negative response
If the moderators only want to hear about nice things then they should make that clear on joining the forum
I am extremely upset at being called a troll and feel that this is totally against the spirit of the forum
I did not report it to the authorities as I have read that the authorities are not interested. I have read this on this forum

Please try to see this from our point of view, too, love fuerte:
- we don't know you from Eve
- it was your first ever post
- your statement "a young man came right up to where I was sitting and exposed himself in my face" could mean one of two things:
(a) he was committing a lewd and indecent act that nobody would condone
(b) he just happened to be standing next to you (and you're sitting, so at eye-level to his penis) when he took off his clothes. All naturists have to undress somewhere, and frankly most of us see so little importance in hiding/showing our "private" parts that we don't necessarily think about the surroundings. It's perfectly legal on a beach, so we just do it. Much less offensive than picking your nose or spitting ;).

If you'd already posted hundreds of times about how much you loved getting an all-over tan here then I'm sure the response would have been different. It's a shame you didn't either report him to the police or take his photo. Even if the police don't take any action, I believe they are at least required to file such reports.

Anyway, I hope it hasn't put you off coming to the island. I'm sure you'll have at least another 14 trouble-free years here.
