A touching love story

An 82-year old woman was arrested for shoplifting. When she went before the magistrate he asked her: "What did you steal?"

She replied: "A can of peaches."

The magistrate continued and asked why she had stolen the can of peaches to which she replied that she was hungry. The magistrate then enquired about how many peaches were in the can.

She replied: "6."

The magistrate then ruled saying: "Then I will give you 6 days in jail."

Before the trial could be concluded, the woman's husband stood up and asked if he could say a few words. Recognising the dedication of the old man the magistrate invited him to say what he wanted:

The husband said: "She also stole a can of peas."
