Hi all, just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone that has helped/given information/answered questions etc. over the last few years, because of you we are now in a position to live the dream and will be moving to Fuerteventura in March!  However that does mean that there will probably be lot's more questions, updates needed on things already asked, so please be kind, I will try to search first but things change so quickly there that I will repeat some questions that have already been answered.  Very excited now but also a little nervous and extremely stressed at having to de-clutter and get rid of most of our belongings!  :-*

Lmao sorry I was just following on from Woe by answering some of those most asked questions haha.

Here's another:
If your heading out to do some official business like apply for an NIE or residencia NEVER expect the day to go as you planned it, you might think something should take half a day but the Spanish will prove you wrong, take sandwiches and plenty of water, you will need it!

Well done lander and good luck, I'm sure you'll love it. The best part about living abroad is getting to know the culture and idiosyncrosies of your new homeland.

On the other hand, those official places close at 2pm at the latest but sometimes won't see any new applicants after mid-day. So you get to enjoy the afternoon on the beach, building up your reserves of patience for the next day.  Good luck and welcome to Corralejo life: it's GREAT! 8) 8)

The first 10 years are the worse. The next 5 years you start to slowly get over your frustrations. I'm here 19 years now and I think I'm getting to know the Culture and Idiosyncrosies, (or should I say Idiots,) a little bit more. Good luck anyway.

How long have you been here glenys, sounds like you've survived them better than me.

If you want idiots Woe, go back to the UK, there's feckin millions of 'em.   ;D
Regards, Neil
Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

Bought a house on the golf course about 13 years ago but only come out for holidays at the moment. Bought in the "boomtime" hoping to get work and live there but the crash came and we couldn't take the risk. Retiring in the next few years so will be moving over full time then.

I hope you're not surrounded by "Holiday Makers From Hell".  The Golf Course Villas have become a nightmare now  :(

Jock719

What's happened to the golf course? We stayed at La Colina bed Xmas and new year and it was fine...are there dodgy areas then?

Spike On Q

All over the world where ever you get people on holiday you will find noise and disruption [as perceived by the local residents]. Some people on holiday tend to BBQ and party late into the night or get home at 3am laughing and shouting - even in Skegness! It is seasonal as this time of year the tourists tend to be older and in bed earlier with their cocoa

Jock719

True, very true. If I had the pennies it would be splendid isolation. It is a worry though as most places have some sort of holiday rental around them....personally I don't care, in fact I'd probably join them but Mrs Jock is prematurely middle aged and doesn't like fun in any form, especially if I'm doing/ enjoying it....hehe

The Villas with pools attract the morons. El Vergal and Las Cascadas.  You'll have a more peaceful life in the Apartment / Townhouses.
