HI all,

Can anyone please tell me how this new Ryanair book/allocated seating works???? We have tried every month from April through to Oct to book flights and seats together but all the seats are booked barring odd ones here and there. We have also noticed that it is always the same seats that are not booked on every flight from different airports that we have checked. It is always the same 7 window seats at the right hand side of the plane looking toward the cockpit and the same 6 isle seats on the left hand side then half a dozen single seats up near the front.

Any info greatly appreciated...

Hi Lulabell where are you flying from?  We are coming out next Saturday with Easyjet, not Ryanair, but your question intrigued me.  I've just been on Ryanair Website and checked 3 random flights in April, July and September from 3 different airports, ie, Manchester, East Midlands and Leeds/Bradford and I've been offered loads of seat availability on each of them.  Maybe I've just touched lucky with the random choices but it does seem a bit odd that every flight you have looked at has only had the same/similar seats available.  I can't think of why that would be the case, maybe someone else can throw some light on it.

I'm flying out from Edinburgh next Thursday and there were lots off seats available when i checked in yesterday. With Ryanairs new policy of allocated seating we don't bother paying for seat booking and so far have always had seats together.
Also checked for flights in May and there are lots of available seats.

Problem solved after ringing Ryanair and speaking to a very nice advisor who changed our return seat's so we could sit together, she explained to us that apparently the laptop we use had somehow saved the seat plan from Ryanair's seat plan from when we checked in on line this morning and booked our seats, so every time we looked it showed the same plan!! (I know it's beyond me) anyway cleared the browsing history, rebooted the laptop and checked again and it was all OK, the flights we are looking at have plenty of seating together so I'm now a happy chappy ;D ;)

When I`m only paying £95 return for a flight, I`m not going to pay another £20 each just to sit together. Travelled with Easyjet and never booked seats but always sit  together. #famouslastwords
