The acronym is apparently a commonly used euphemism in exhibitionist circles.

This thread started off with the statement "A bit of a controversial subject...", and it is.  Without wishing to be too much of a spoilsport, it's worth noting that outdoor sex on nude beaches is what has contributed to naturism getting a bad reputation.  I know that some of the people who do it aren't true naturists, but it's the naturists who get the blame - and the bad press!  Just look what happened at the lovely Holkham Beach in Norfolk.

Maybe if you give us some details about what you got upto he explain what a pda is lol :)

I understand that sex on the beach & in the sea etc may offend some ppl and we clearly werent watched by anyone that didnt want to see it. We spent the day on the beach naked and occasionally got carried away in a pod nothing more. The type that annoy me are the men who wear a t shirt but no bottoms & just want to be seen by everyone whilst 'pleasuring themselves' which is a far cry from what we were doing.

capricornukuk

Pda that's what it is :) well got to agree with petfreddi
When we were there we went to a large discrete pod away from the main drag so to speak
A bottle of wine a nice breeze you can get carried away and you could only see if you made a determined effort to do so and there a couple of them for sure not loads but a few , in no way did we go out to offend
Anyone .

But won't deny a bit of alfresco was :):):)

It's been said by other people enough times on here before - the Naturist  Section is not a suitable place to discuss sexual matters. It's the constant mixing of motives for being naked on the beach which colours other peoples' views of naturism.
Textile people have sex on the beach as well.
For many, being 'a bit naughty' outside is a part of their holiday, but they won't talk about it - it's just for themselves.
Almost anywhere you go on holiday - UK or abroad - at the quiet ends of the beach/dunes/hills etc, you'll find someone quietly sunbathing naked, or having some special time together. They may or may not be naturists, they may or may not be swingers. It's just what the sun makes people want to do.
The lone men wandering around looking for action always assume that nude beaches are ripe for viewing. And they're right.

This year we saw more textile couples pda-ing than those who started off naked.
We did have some private fun ourselves. We actively discourage watchers. We do always end play with the same number of people we started with. We make sure, if we play, that nobody's going to unexpectedly come across us (double entendre). A lot of others like to be watched, and that's fine.

But please keep sex out of naturism topics. Put it in General Chat.

What a load of rubbish, If you truly believe there is as much sexual activity on a UK textile beach as there is at Corralejo naturist area, you are clearly going to different beaches than me!

jg

The only sexual activity that I have seen on beaches has been by textiles who have remained clothed.

That's not what I said, though, is it?
The fact is, lovemaking, or, indeed, sex, is a great, traditional and popular activity in the great outdoors.
The point is, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Naturism, so it shouldn't be on the Naturist Topic.
The first fifteen postings kept to the original question, which discussed the motives for being naked. Can't we get back to that?

capricornukuk

We will be back in jan hoping to get naked hope it's warm enough :)

I have witnessed sexual behavior in both environments. However in several areas on the northern coasts of the US, couples enjoy the cooler weather at the beach because it provides them an opportunity to hide under blankets and engage in hanky-panky.

In California, textile beaches usually involve greater incidents of littering, illegal drug use, intoxication and fighting. In the Santa Barbara area, for decades the sheriff's department ignored the occasional "outraged locals'" complaints about nudity in an area where folks have to walk a mile to get to. This was because, as the police noted, even though the nude beach would often be more crowded than textiles beaches on the weekends, there were far fewer problems.

While our weather is pretty good in So Cal, I miss the relaxed environment of Fuerteventura. Consider yourselves fortunate the rock is only a single short flight away.

 8) PDA my guess for PDA  is Pretty Dam Offensive ???:P Cheers Sunpics  :'(

capricornukuk

I doubt if you find it offensive avionics you actively seek them out with your camera lol

Thank you for all your posts

Didn't take long to go off the subject.................although I did learn something..................what PDA means!!!

Not sure what the answer is............ but from what people have been posting it is probably a mix of both. Some people just love to get naked, relax and be at one with nature...........others obviously like a bit of PDA and see being naked in public as a sexual turn on. Probably most of us are somewhere in the middle, enjoying both the sensuality of being naked to the elements, the sun, the sea, the wind and maybe a bit of titillation when you know someone is enjoying looking at you......or you take pleasure looking at another naked body

Is there room on our beaches for all???

I do hope so as I feel naturists are a tolerant lot!!

To precis Socal's sensible contribution:

Who cares so long as you take care not to offend anybody.

I would be drowning in a sea of self delusion if I ever thought that!  :D

We never set out to offend Anyone
We always stay clear of the main part of a beach even if they're naturist friendly
