Arrived on the island last night and couldn't get our broadband connected. Connection to the router was fine, but not onwards.
This morning first thing all was working well.
Lunchtime, back to the situation we had last night - nothing!
This afternoon and so far this evening all is o.k.
Has anyone else had these sort of problems recently?

Which part of the island? Our connection on the Tamaragua estate just outside Corralejo is fine at the moment, and has been for the last year except for a few days a while ago when it was constantly up and down, sometimes down just for seconds, other times for minutes (not longer).

Caleta - sorry!

All has been well now for the past 7 hours, so fingers crossed.

I had that when I first got connected just over a year ago and then it stabilized about 2 months later and now the last week or 2 my connection speed has been half what it should be, not sure if it's a coincidence or not but I think it has something to do with August/September being busy months and a lot more are using it at the time.

We continue to suffer lengthy outages - on at the moment (obviously!) but we have been unable to connect since lunchtime.
The Telphonica engineer has been round and muttered something about complex cable being the probaem. He's due to come back tomorrow, so finger still crossed.

We have had 4 days of it here on Tamaragua. It goes off at 11-30 ish and doesn't come back on til 8-30 ish!!!! We are with Europa (and that was a mistake!!) They have finally decided this afternoon at 5.45pm that they will have to get a Movistar/Telifonica engineer to run some tests and come back to them with the results which will take at least 48 hours!!  >:(

Definitely agree that Europa was the wrong decision, whatever Movistar's faults. The only time we've had a problem with the line it was sorted in a couple of hours. They look after their own. :-X
