Filmon have for years sporadically renewed themselves offering free TV access. Each time -after a few months - they have moved the goalposts at some stage attempting to make you subscribe.

I'd hoped that this time the 'free for sd' , 'subscribe for hd' might have kept everyone happy.

We'll see.

Enjoy it while it lasts. - ExpatShield still does the job.

Brightspark

Filmon as admin says moves the goal posts everytime.

Alki David.... the guy that owns it is a complete moron, born into money he bought the business before it went large.

My theory is that he has no rights to sell on what he claims to own, so by offering a "free" service he's trying to get away with broadcasting something that he doesn't have the rights to.

He is already facing huge legal issues in the USA by broadcasting the likes of CBS and ABC.

Won't be long before the authorities clamp down on him and close the site down.

Yep brightspark is 100% correct. Don't bother paying this guy is going to get shut down. He keeps trying to play the system and they are looking to punish him.

His HD paid service was ok but it did freeze a fair bit. Also remember that you don't have a remote control so you have to keep getting up off the sofa to change the channel. There is also a big lag when changing channels.

Quoteremember that you don't have a remote control  so you have to keep getting up off the sofa to change the channel.
I would think that an unlikely scenario.  Most people who have a PC connected to their telly will likely have an infrared or bluetooth remote keyboard and or mouse.
I use the Logitech diNovo Mini as mouse and keyboard.

I want one of these but they still retail at 75 euro in electron. will wait til they come down a bit more

Mine is a couple of years old now and a few of the keys need a very firm pressing. The charging connection is a bit dicky too but maybe one of my kids has stepped on it. For typing a few letters e.g. logins etc it's fine but I wouldn't want to use it for as much as a paragraph. Overall - for controlling a pc-for-telly it does the job very well.

I saw a cheaper version by  Tocamy (Trust)  in Media Markt. It looked very similar and was about 45€

The goalposts have been moved again.

Now they are wanting you to subscribe for full screen viewing.

Sigh  :'(

Yes, we had been in the uk for a week, and when we came back on Friday we found the same problem. I suppose they have dangled the carrot, and expect people to pay now. I wont be, and am thinking of using Europa package of internet and free uk t.v.

Expatshield is free, doesn't need a special box and gets everything.

As for remotes ... My Dinovo Mini won't charge anymore so I've just ordered this which has good reviews:

It has the catchy name of
Rii II (Touch N7) Mini Wireless Keyboard 2.4 Ghz, Super Long Range (30m Max), Removable Battery, Full Qwerty Keyboard, Adjustable DPI Touchpad, for PC, HTPC, Apple, Xbox360, Wii, PS3

Price:   £28.97

It does not use filmon

Deso

I have just tried Filmon and had it running for 10 minutes on SD fullscreen and no problems.
I'm in the UK but that should not make a difference......should it?

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

We use film on all the time and is working fine, they have worked on it recently, so you have not been able to go full screen all the time.

But you must log on through your growers not through their HD icon.

Once you have opened the page and selected your channel, just above the screen viewing the picture is a red dot next to SD and a green dot next to HD. Click on the SD to make the dot turn green then you can expand the screen to full screen and watch away!

Good luck!

bridlife

I put filmon back on the tv last night, and low and behold, they have removed the charge placed on changing from the small screen to the large screen. So we were able to watch it on our large screen again. Not sure what they are playing at.
