I have read much on this and though I have to  heard bad reports about triqui services I cannot confirm or deny this but how does the triqui boss come to name a person when there has been no names mentioned on here is beyond me is he /she sure it is this person and can they confirm this

Your right Spitfire58, an experienced tradesmen would ask for either up-front money for the materials only, a deposit or stage payments. What I should have posted was "in my business I personally ask for full payment prior to the supply of my services and product, my apologies for the poor post and what it implied.

In another life I worked for an organisation which involved me investigating complaints against all types of firms including building contractors. Roofing contractors came top of the list for the number of complaints we received.  It certainly wasn't all one sided, I came across a number of professional complainers, they always seemed to make their complaints or at least increase their complaints around the same time they received their final demand from the contractor, sometimes six months to a year after the job was complete, the majority of these complainants were so called professionals i.e. Solicitors and Teachers in particular.

I agree Tamkid. I can see what you were getting at. I normally do all my own DIY but in a case where I had to get someone in I would expect 50:50 & be quite happy with that.

Again? What's the difference?

Tamkid

Big difference, my business is totally different. I introduced my payment system "Successfully" many years ago after getting my fingers burnt a few times, there are some very nasty underhand people out there. If my clients are unhappy with the service and product I have supplied, providing they can give me a valid reason for their non acceptance then a full refund is given.

The person in the original post forgot to mention two very important details, a work timeline, and why didn't he cough up the contractors final amount on completion of the work. The defects he has described seemed to have come to light a considerable time after initial installation. Some people experienced in business might come to the wrong conclusion and what the post is really all about.

Thank you so much. For the record we are talking about a project of more than â,¬50,000 which has been fully paid.
Please don't get me wrong, even if you build a pool for â,¬10,000 you still expect everything to be built properly and to function as it should.

Please read our answer to Juggler.
Unfortunately you seem not to have read our original posting fully. We have been busy trying to solve all these problems with the contractor since December last year just after the project was finally finished.

Personally, I do not think this forum is the place to vent your grievances with Triqui Services without having first taking them to court to prove your case, it is your word against theirs, but it their case you are talking about their livelihoods, which is extremely unfair.  Spain is one of the few places were an Administrator of a forum has been taken to court and fined substantially  for allowing defamatory posts like yours. If I was Triqui Services I would sue you for the original post and the Administrator for allowing it to be published, in Spain you they would have a very good chance of winning.

Brightspark

Considering the server for this forum is based in Gloucester I would say there's virtually no possibility of any prosecutor outside of the UK who would stand a chance of taking action against the administrator of this site.

Protect business's on here but not the consumer ?. So a company can't be named and shamed for shoddy service?. Nonsense. If the forum had put the finger on useless tradesmen, dishonest estate agents and unethical solicitors when I was house hunting it could have saved me a whole lot of problems. Operating on an island should not make a company any less responsible for their work than anywhere else, or prevent them being accountable. Yes we all know there's 2 sides to every story but business owners, as has just been shown here are able to put their own case forward. In my experience it's usually the ones who don't bother to respond that are suspect.

By the way sparkie...forgot to thank you ;)
