digging up etc in caleta

hi everyone,
I haven't been on the forum for quite a while so i'm sorry if this has already been covered I have looked for it but can't find anything.. when I was in caleta in dec/jan they started digging up the path which is for pedestrians only, opposite the steps near the chemist and also the road which the san Jorge is on amongst other roads, can anyone tell me why they were digging and if anyone has any photos of what it all looks like now it would be really appreciated.

They have been upgrading the roads and pavements, part of a major improvement program, most is now finished just the odd bits still to do mostly around the beach area now.
