Dulux Metalshield Paint

Hi All,

Does anyone know if and/or where I might buy this paint on the island ? I want some very hard-wearing black metal paint and a few discussions back here in the UK lead me to believe this is the stuff to go for if at all possible.

Numerous people have put me off Hammerite as not even being close to hard-wearing enough but I'm open to hearing any other suggestions. But ideally I'd like to get hold of some Dulux Metalshield as it is tried and tested ....

Whatever brand you buy, you need these days to go to a proper trade supplier - they will sell the proper paint which has high VOC content.  Most paint in retail stores is water-based and is very poor.

I cant say I've seen that particular brand, but it's worth checking in Ideal, where they have a broad selection of 'specialist' paints. If they don't have Dulux Metalshield, they do have several different  metal paints. Personally, I am a fan of Hammerite, used it over the years with no problems, but I guess we all have different experiences/advice!

I have often used Hammerite but you must take care with preperation and remove Every trace of rust first.
