Just seen the dates for FEAGA this year:
21 - 24 April - well worth a visit especially if you haven't been before (held at the Pozo Negro showground).

Admin/Mods need to get this up in the top right of the page instead of the one for 2015 ::)

Think that may have been the last job admin carried out.

I have been registered on here since June 2015 when we were living in UK but for some reason have never been able to post, what eve the issue me or the system it now obviously allows me to do so, so you will be hearing a lot more from me

Thanks again.

Sorry Johnrgby2 (and possibly others) I wasn't thinking when I posted - I should have given more info.
Although the exhibition stalls/displays etc are the same each day of the show there are different events on each day. (Traditional sports/horse racing/music/dancing/singing/cheese competitions/animal competitions etc). More info will be published nearer the time but I seem to remember that Thursday is setting up day, Friday is school visits, Sat & Sun are the main public days. I tend to go along around lunchtime on the Friday - the schools are starting to head home and it isn't as crowded as the weekend. The first year we went on a Saturday and it was a boiling hot day and with the crowds I found it a bit overpowering. Whatever day you go make sure you have plenty of sunscreen on, hats, and drink plenty of water. Lots of free food tasting (especially cheeses) as well as fast food available to buy for lunch/snacks. Plenty of car parking but the queues on the road can be quite long to get into the site. It can then be quite a walk to/from the car park if you are not able bodied/have small children/buy too many plants/start feeling the heat/drink too much beer etc

This is a link to a video taster, filmed last year (by the Captain's son):

Hi

We live here and will be off to Feaga this year,  do you know if you can buy chickens there? I seem to remember you can.

Thanks
Kate

Snowdrop

Pretty certain you can somewhere there as we saw a little girl with either a baby ducking or chicken - cannot recall which now, that her father had brought.

I thought it would be illegal to duck babies? it could be a Spanish thing. Out of interest, I noticed a lot of sorry looking animals on the video including "Cows", I have never seen a cow or bull in a pen or field in all the time I have been on the Island, is there a secret green valley I am not aware of?

Yes

Just seen the Triathlon is on the 23rd April this year so roads down in that area may be a bit busy if you are heading up through La Playitas to visit FEAGA.

Great answer Tamara, like your style.

Had a great afternoon at FEAGA today. Arrived just as all the school children were departing (as planned) so it was very pleasant to wander around without the crowds that will turn out on the weekend. It did mean that all the animals hadn't yet arrived but there were enough to get the general flavour  ;D.
A beautiful day, hot and sunny with enough breeze to keep it pleasant. Lack of crowds also made it easier to visit all the stalls without jostling, for tasting the cheeses, olives etc and talking to the stall holders. Some really cute baby camels in the Oasis Park enclosure.
Someone asked if there would be chickens for sale. There were a few cages where the various birds (inc. chickens & goslings) were marked up for sale (in the competition shed), also a very unhappy looking donkey that I wanted to buy and take home. (There were plenty of happy looking donkeys (and new foals) that weren't for sale and goats, sheep, cows, bulls, camels, endless varieties of fowl etc.)
If you haven't been before and are on the island it is a great day out - something different. Wear plenty of sunscreen and cover up if you aren't acclimatised. There are plenty of stalls selling refreshments so don't worry about carting loads of water around with you. Enjoy!

I wonder if Jensen Button is attending the Event this year. He had to withdraw in the run last year due to injury.
