Hi - does anyone know if Lumigan eye drops are available on Fuerteventura, and if so are they "over the counter" or only available by prescription?

Thank you, Keith

The Generic name is  bimatoprost. You could ask for that, and it will be cheaper too, than brand name.
From what I've Googled, it seems you may need a prescription.

If you're in the UK, I'd bring some with you.

Thank you Woe. I've just started using them so don't yet know how long a bottle lasts - and it's tiny! I'm coming over for 5 1/2 weeks so definitely bring a spare bottle and a prescription. Prescription only in the UK sounds like the same in the Canaries.

Hello, yes you can buy Bimatoprost  ( generic name ) in the pharmacy without prescription.

But it's â,¬ 18.93 for one.

Thank you Woe - good to know that it's possible as a back up. Even at that price it's quite a bit cheaper than you could get it in the UK, just glad I don't have to pay for prescriptions, one of the advantages of living in Wales!

Once opened the bottle has a 28 day life and must be discarded after that date. You should be able to request your surgery to provide a prescription to cover the whole of your visit so you shouldn't need to buy any whilst away.
