last year La Marquesina restaurant at town beach was undergoing major refurb
and there was talk of the apartments upstairs being converted in to another boutique hotel like the avanti
is the work finished yet ??

No not finished yet.  Restaurant been reopen for a while now but apartments up top look much the same as they did couple of months ago.

Apparently the workers have gone to work on the new Barcelo so work has stopped.
