Can anyone give more information on holiday rentals on "residential" complexes , as more and more people seem to be doing this. Many doing this illegaly, paying for no licence. paying no taxes and even some paying no community fees, but quite openly advertising on holiday rental sites. Bit of a pain when the holiday renters next door out drinking in the garden EVERY NIGHT till all hours , and you have to be up at six in the morning for work .

What info are you looking for? You seem to be giving info.

If they're making a lot of noise at night, residents or holidaymakers, legal or illegal, you can call in the police.

Although the holiday rental issue has been done to death in a succession of threads, your problem with unacceptably noisy neighbours is one with which we should all sympathise.....I don't mind holiday-makers letting their hair down a bit, but some peopl seem to have no regard whatsoever for those in the properties around them.

Sheila is right - call the police and they WILL take the complaint seriously. If you are not confident in espanol the operator will put you through to an English -speaking operator. The appearance of a couple of armed Guardia officers at the gate is quite a sobering experience, and by the time they have gone through passport checks etc the party is usually very much over!

A few of us were looking to stop this continual problem at source, calling the police is effective, as we have seen , but only until the next renters arrive.  Should maybe have asked if renting rules for RESIDENTIAL complexes, were different from those for HOLIDAY complexes. Just asking for some advice , (not giving info), before we decide about going down the legal route. Thank you.

I would imagine if the old bill come to a complaint about noisey renters, and the owner does not have a VV licence, then I guess they will now get their collar felt, as well!

The police will take no action, just advise to quieten down.If its like the UK action is only taken by the relevant council with a noise abatement order after continual anti social behaviour. Considering the holidaymaker offenders will be long gone before then and replaced by a new lot it seems to me its going to be a tall order for any residential complexes to stop it. Especially as they now seem to be throwing Vv  licenses around like confetti at a wedding in residential areas. While all the while in the actual tourist areas where this should be expected its banned.

Madness of the highest order.
