Social Security Number

Hi everyone,

I need to obtain a social security number. Does anyone know if the only place is in Puerto Del Rosario or if there is one in or around Corralejo?
If only in Puerto, do you know if an appointment is needed?
I understand there is a form (TA-1) which I have downloaded and ID is also needed. Anything else I would need to take with me?

Have you established an absolute right to social cover? They guard those numbers with their lives nowadays. I remember it being a bit of a nightmare.

I've been trying to remember what we needed for my own application, but those memories are hidden in the six-month fight to get my husband a number. Because his 'only' right to it was as my dependent, they insisted on knowing that he was actually my hubby. Original marriage certificate from 1982? No good. Official translation? Nope. House deeds in three countries (FV included)? No. Eventually we got an apostille stuck on the back of the certificate... and hubby got his number.

With regards to the website I have tried to make an appointment on line but to no avail.
Any ideas on how I might do this?
I have also tried to call the office but on the number they gave me nobody answers!

If it's for a new job you need to go to Tesoreria, who are extremely unhelpful and rude.

Alternatively, your boss can create it (don't know how, but that's the way it's supposed to be done.)

I have used this link/site several times to make appointments for friends - what seems to be the problem/how far are you getting?
Phone number - are you trying to ring in the mornings? No good ringing after lunch/siesta time!

Hi everyone,

The help is really appreciated. I believe I need to make an appointment to obtain the SS number but I cannot find where on the web page to do it - I have tried to register but it does not like my NIE!
I think the only option I have is to go there on Monday and make an appointment for another day!
