I've used Expatshield, it was rubbish, slowed my computer right down, from 6mb/sec to under 1 mb/sec. I've used CyberGhost, a little better but tends to drop the signal too much. At the moment I'm using Vyprvpn which although not perfect,  is better than the others, and has good test reviews. you'll be paying around 6 US$ per month through Paypal. Don't waste your time with a free one, it'll be too slow, and do your head in. I have 6mb wifi, but if you have more, it will obviously be better.

Yeah, I'd buy a VPN subscription.  Get one with servers in the US and you can stream US content (including Netflix) also.  £5/month will get you a good one.  Less than a UK TV license...
