When buying your flights, do you book your extras at the same time?

We always book our seats and luggage straight away, but I just realised it helps my cashflow to book and pay for the extras nearer to flight date.

What do you do, and why?

And I know that it's possible for some to travel without hold bags, but we can't.

Always book seats and baggage with the flights - it's so much quicker and easier.  And, presumably, there's a bigger choice of seats.

As for cashflow, would you get an additional card fee if you booked the extras at a later date?

I booked the flight and baggage only at the time of booking. Then I relented and booked the seats later.  Should just have done it all at the same time:-)

Easyjet, who we generally fly with, appear to charge the same for extras added late as those at the time of booking.
I'm sure there's others who may have split pricing. I just tried Monarch, but they make it difficult to compare without actually booking - what are they trying to hide? Ryanair seem to have only one price, though.
We booked for October with Easyjet when the flights were released just before Xmas, so that's a chunk of my money they're sitting on.
We have long-leg seats, so they need booking early, but next year, the cases will wait till nearer the flight time.

I always book the flight + seat reservation + extra baggage + in flight meals all at the same time (usually with TC to Tom) not sure if you can book things later....

A checked-in bag costs the passenger £38.
Say ten passengers decide not to pay for this, that means £380 lost income for Easyjet.
Oh Dear, poor Easyjet you say.
But they want that money.
180 seats on the plane. Say 15 empty seats = 165 paying  passengers.
Everyone's ticket just went up by £2.30 to keep the figures right.

That's a gross over simplification, but every plane must average x revenue.
Those of us taking (admittedly) stupid amounts of luggage are subsidising the carry-on-only customers.
