Which TV should I buy ?

Hi All,

The next time I am over I shall be heading to Electron to buy a TV for my apartment and am seeking some advice.

Currently all we have available is a communal antenna (aerial) for receiving terrestrial Spanish programmes and a small newly installed satellite dish for receiving the basic multinational free-to-air channels often found in hotel rooms (the English speaking ones being Sky News, BBC World, Bloomberg TV and some of the other American finance channels). Some of the other Spanish/German/Arabic channels often show American movies and serials dubbed into their respective languages.

So here are my questions ...

1) I have been told that certain television sets will allow me to remove the dubbing mentioned above so that I can watch these American movies and shows in English even though I am watching them on a Spanish/German/Arabic free-to-air channel ? Does that sound right, and if so I'm guessing this only applies to the satellite channels and not the terrestrial Spanish ones received via the antenna which I guess are not changeable at all ?

2) I have also been told that I should try and find a TV that "saves" the language setting for each channel even when switched off or at least when the channel is switched over, so that if ever a particular programme has an English language option then the TV will default to this. Does this sound possible ?

All I'm trying to do is yield as much English language TV as I possibly can from the basic (but free) communal system so that I have some familiar background noise when I want it, and I want to set the thing up so that the language changes naturally to English whenever possible.

Does such a TV set exist ? I am currently erring towards the smallest LG SMART TV I can get out there on the basis that LG generally get very good reviews and that such a choice would offer SMART technology should I ever wish to hook it up to the internet (which is unlikely). But if it turns out a Samsung or other make is more user friendly for my language requirements then I would definitely go in that direction.

Thanks for reading this far. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
