Having tried everything inc a 2m dish on the roof and Sky Digibox with card, I have finally lost all channels apart from a few useless ones.

I got a box from Martin in Corralejo which connects via Internet and I have all live BBC, ITV, C4, C5 as well as SKy Movies, Sports etc. Also have thousands of movies and TV shows on demand. €399 and no monthly payment.

Strange...You can get all the uk channels etc at the moment with a 1.8/1.9 dish!
Also an iptv system without subscription that shows SKY SPORTS.......hope mr murdoch does not read this forum

I thought UK channels had gone from a 1.9m dish since they went to 2F.  Did I miss something?

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

I think you will find that the UK TV channels are still on satellites at 28 east, not 19 east!
Currently they are on Astra 1a, astra 1n, astra 2f, and eutelsat 28 a.
Only a handful of channels are on 2F - C5's some ITV regions, C4HD, BBC HD Red Button...
Soon they will be joined by Astra 2E - if the ruskies don't blow that one up either - and then 1N will go to 19 east.

As for "€399 and no monthly payment." - simply watch filmon (it is what will be used for the main channels!) or download xbmc and the various "repos" - all for free - for your PC, laptop, or android device. It will be what the "399euros" box will be using - a hell of a mark up when the android tv boxes are about 100 euros and the software and stream it uses is all available for free. Here on the mainland the going rate for these boxes preloaded and ready to go is 125-150 euros! The quality for live TV is watchable, but do not expect HD, as the streams come with resolutions that are sometimes less than SD, such that sometimes during a football match it can be "spot the ball!"

I am just glad they don't use those type of engines on planes, we'd never get to Fuerte for our sunshine.  ;D

You can buy fully set up boxes from Fleabay for £75-80 if you are not into tinkering yourself. Linux ones are more stable but Android ones have all the apps etc that your android phone has, plus you can play the games etc on your big screen.  :D
