Does this let me change dates, from, say, next month(March) to,say, April? just asking as a bit of a hitch may mean I will not be able to come out as planned in March.

Hi ZedZed, yes it does but unfortunately you have to pay for the privilege......no surprises there eh? :) http://www.ryanair.com/ie/terms-and-conditions#regulations-tableoffees

FLIGHT AND NAME CHANGES

Flight dates, times and routes are changeable (subject to seat availability).Such flight changes can be made up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time either online (unless you have already checked in online*)or via a reservation centre (subject to opening hours).  Internet/web only fares cannot be booked when flight changes are made through an airport or reservation centre.  Bookings that include a Spanish resident discount or Spanish large family discount cannot be changed online, please contact a Ryanair reservation centre during opening hours.

Flight Change fees are charged per one way flight/per person. Prices vary and prices are seasonal - please see our Table of Fees for details . In addition to these flight change fees, any price difference between the original fare paid and the lowest total price available at the time of the flight change is charged. Please note that if the fare on the new flight is lower, no refund will be made.

A passenger name can be changed online at the rate of £110/€110 or via the airport or reservation centre at the rate of £160/€160. Name changes can be made up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time either online (unless you have already checked in online*)or via a reservation centre (subject to opening hours). Any name change made to a flight reservation must be for that individual passenger's complete flight itinerary.

If you do not wish all passengers in your booking to be changed, or if domestic flights are being changed to international flights, you must contact our local reservations centre (during opening hours).

German ELV payments can only be accepted up to 10 days prior to the flight departure.

*Passengers who have checked in online but now wish to change a flight date, route or passenger name must contact a reservation centre up to the day prior to flight departure(subject to opening hours) to have the required flight(s) unchecked, subject to the payment of an uncheck fee of €15/£15 per flight/per person.  Once the flight(s) have been unchecked the reservation can be changed via Manage My Booking .Name changes are not possible if any flight sector in the booking has been flown. This service is not available at the airport
PRIORITY BOARDING

The Priority Boarding service allows passengers to be part of the first group to board the aircraft and choose any seat on board, except for those seats designated as Reserved Seating in rows 1,2, 16 & 17.

Priority Boarding can be purchased online for a fee of £5/€5 per person/per one way flight (or local currency equivalent ) during the initial booking process (for all passengers on a flight reservation) or after booking via Manage My Booking. Alternatively it can be purchased at an airport ticket desk or via a call centre for £10/€10 per person/per one way flight.

Passengers with pre-booked special assistance will be boarded after general boarding is completed.  Specific seats are allocated onboard the aircraft and therefore Reserved Seating or Priority Boarding should not be purchased.
RESERVED SEATING

The option to reserve certain seats is available on all Ryanair flights

A reserved seat in row 2, 5, 15 and (emergency exit) rows 1, 16 & 17 can be purchased in advance online or at a call centre/airport*. The priority boarding service is included in the above Reserved Seat fee.

To sit in an emergency exit seat (row 1, 16 or 17) you must be:

    16 years or older
Willing and able to help in the event of an emergency
    Not traveling with an infant
Not using a seat belt extender (which could get tangled in an emergency)

Reserved seating in rows 1, 16 and 17 may not be purchased if you have purchased an extra seat for item/comfort.

Infants are not permitted to sit in rows 1, 2 (seats A, B, C), 15, 16 and 17.

A maximum of 1 infant can be seated in Row 2 (D, E, F) and a maximum of 2 infants in Row 5 (one to be seated each side of the aisle).

The reserved seat fee is non-refundable, even if customers are unable to use their reserved seat for one of the above reasons.

Passengers with reduced mobility, blind/visual impairment or who require special assistance have specific seats allocated for them onboard and therefore should not purchase a reserved seat.

Customers who have booked a reserved seat who subsequently change their flight date/route or passenger name can do so online via Manage My Booking or via a call centre (subject to opening hours).  However, the reserved seat cannot be transferred to the new flight/passenger and in these cases the fee is non-refundable.

We reserve the right to reassign reserved seats at any time, this may be necessary for operational, safety or security reasons.

*Reserved seating  can be purchased at the time of booking on the web for £10/€10, alternatively you can purchase it at the airport or call centre for £20/€20. Please note that an increased charge is applicable on the following routes, The Canary Islands, Greece and Cyprus. These routes are subject to a charge of £15/€15 at the time of booking on the web or £30/€30 at the airport or call centre.

It does indeed, HOWEVER, it will cost you between £30 and £60 PER PERSON, PER FLIGHT LEG, PLUSSS!!!!! The difference in flight cost.  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o
If the new flight price is less than you have paid for your original flight, surprise, surprise, NO REFUND of the difference.

So MINIMUM cost will be £100 per person.

You beat me to it there Fi   :D

I just cherry picked the details for a quick answer.   ;D  ;)

As ever, my grateful thanks to you both. It may be more economical to just cancel and put in an insurance claim because I don`t think the hotel booking is refundable either,(Travel Republic). Nor is the car park but that`s only £36 anyway. At least the cicar booking can be cancelled without charge, hoping it won`t come to that though and I can still get away.

May only be £36 to you ZZ but to us poor pensioners that is a weeks groceries :D :D

I`m going to have to cancel I`m afraid, an elderly relative has had to be hospitalised after a fall. nothing broken fortunately but so badly bruised she is unable to stand unaided. 6hrs unattended on a hospital trolley in a corridor at 94, never offered a drink and then had an id bracelet attached that was for someone else, pathetic. Anyway, she is bright enough this morning. So then, as FR don`t do cancellations how am I going to prove to the insurance company that I didn`t use the flight booking? any ideas gratefully received . I have cancelled the accommodation with Travel Republic and been promised a certificate, cancelled Cicar ok, can`t cancel the airport parking, it refuses to recognise me so I will try registering with them and see if that makes any difference. If I get my £36 back I will send it to a needy pensioner north of the border.

Hi ZedZed here you are.... http://www.ryanair.com/ie/questions/i-did-not-travel-on-my-booked-flights-and-my-insurers-need-me-to-provide-a-no-show-letter-for-my-claim-how-can-i-obtain-this-letter-from-ryanair

Do the sums on whether it is worth your while claiming the Government taxes back also.....they charge £17 per person admin fee  for this.http://www.ryanair.com/ie/terms-and-conditions#regulations-tableoffees

Such a shameful way to treat an elderly lady......I hope that she makes a speedy recovery.....and that you manage to get away soon. :)

Hmm, not going to be easy this, not that I thought for one minute it would be! It`s going something like this:- contact us/insurance letters/click here/if you require confirmation of your unused flights/ contact local call centre/ just goes back to contact us , no phone number anywhere. From another consumer website I found a phone number 08445456524 , anyone used this number? The letter is available for £17 if I can just find a call centre phone number!

Hi ZedZed, I rang them. You have to ring this number
1520 444 004 - €0.15/min incl. VAT after the date of your flight so you appear as a no show in their system and then they will issue the cert for you.

They said that the same number will do from the UK. :)

You are such a little love Fi, many many thanks for the help. MMMWWWAAA!
