UK Expats with Direct saver, Premium Bonds or Savings Bonds accounts with NS&I can now transfer money from their NS&I accounts to overseas accounts held in their own name free of charge.

We have a premium bonds account, but a direct saver account would be easier to operate regarding transferring money in and out. It would appear from the information on the NS&I website that you can open a direct saver account if you are not living in the UK, as long as you have a UK bank account that does BACS transfers. Does anyone have any experience of opening an NS&I account while living in Fuerteventura (or anywhere else outside of UK)?
