Title: Too much Fuzz
Post by: Cameron on May 30, 2012, 20:24:51 PM
Part of an article from a guy who's lived in Alicante mainland Spain for 12 years.

...State spending continues at the same level regardless. In the UK you can go a whole day without seeing a police officer. Here, in Spain, you rarely go more than a few minutes without seeing a member of the Gauardia Civil, Policia National, Guardia Urbana, Moses D'Esquadra or Policia Local. These are just some of the law enforcement officers, none working together, who pull in min. salaries of about 1600 euros per month, have brand new vehicles and subsidised housing. Its an enormous burden on the state....

At last, its not just me thats noticed there's far too many with too much time on their hands.

wondering when the penny will drop and they'll implement some 'savage' cuts lol. Be nice driving into Corrie without having to allow time for stoppages, and initial leaving home checks for hi viz jackets, shirt, drivers licence, spare pair of glasses, footwear adjustment etc, etc, etc

Yesterday there was a huge Guardia Civil presence at the Atlantico roundabout in Caleta - both sides of the road, slowing down all the cars, having a peer in etc.
Fortunately we were waived on, but no idea what it was all about.  Must have been about 10 of them!

Cameron Kenny,

It reminds me of a very old joke, where a lad in a bar asks a Blonde if shes ever been picked up by the Fuzz ?, No she replied but I've often been swung by the T*Ts.

If they cut back the police we might get some work done, if we don't have to stop every day to show our passports and contracts.
