We have just revamped our old Flash based map site to be more up to date and make use of the Google Maps. (Sad - as it took us months to make those maps but Google do such a good job we've sadly said goodbye to the old style.)
We have tried to make it as simple as possible with quick links to most of our towns and have included street finders tailored for each location.
It has also been designed so that you can maximise your browser to increase the map sizes for ease of use.
We'd appreciate your feedback and suggestions of any additional features.

Calle San Francisco in Caleta has changed to Calle el Greco (check spelling) so maybe that might be worth changing.[:)]

Google gets its info for Fuerteventura Maps from Tele Atlas. They've done a pretty good job together but some streets will inevitably be wrong. e.g. in Corralejo, Calle Atalaya is on the map as Calle Hibisco.
If you use the street finder with El Greco it goes stroppy but if you type in San Francisco it finds it.
The street finder code we use is one I did so you don't have to type in the name of the town and island. I'll try and write a yeahbutnobut javascript so that when you type in El Greco it goes to the right place with maybe an alert to explain what's gone on. Don't hold your breath!

Now if you type in - greco, Greco, el greco or El Greco AND you are on the Caleta map , then an alert pops up explaining the map is incorrect but it'll take you to Calle San Francisco.
I've also set it so that if it finds a street then it will zoom in to it.
I've done the same for Calle Atalaya in Corralejo.

Hmmm, the part of Corralejo we are in at the moment could do with some help! Calle del Jazmin on this map is normally called Avenida de Gran Canaria. When I saw it on Google I asked at Atlantic Garden reception if it had changed to 'Jazmin' but I was assured it hadn't. There is also no sign of the newish Guardia building at the roundabout or the Botanical Garden on this map that I can see.
Of course, I could be looking at the map upside down![8D]

I have done what I can to fix the street finder for Tamaragua i.e. I've done a yeahbutnobut code to replace Tamaragua with Roya del Cura .... but ...
e.g searching for drago - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't which implies to me the problem lies with Google's processing. ..... not 100% sure.
Apparently the Google Streetview car didn't bother turning in to Tamaragua so there are no Streetview pics of it - other than from the road to Villaverde.
Would anyone be kind enough to write a couple of paragraphs about Tamaragua? - I'm not very familiar with it.

Searching for Avenida de Gran Canaria or Gran Canaria now takes you to Jazmin.
By the way - there is no need to type Calle or Avenida de.
The new Guarda building is actually included on the Satellite and Streetview. - search for Lanzarote on the Corralejo page then move the wee man up to just below the roundabout.
I must confess to not knowing where the Botanical Garden is!
Thanks Admin. The Botanical Garden occupies the remaining area between Calle Lanzarote and Calle del Hierro, behind (below)the Guardia building. It looks like a giant sandpit on satellite view! Apart from the fact that a pit goes down into the ground and the 'garden' goes up, the description is not too far off!

The photo and map in streetfinders does not seem to be correct for Calle San Francisco, Caleta.

If I choose the road without going into find a town first it brings up the right map and photo. When I choose Caleta first and then the street it brings up the wrong map as seen above.
[:)] If I choose Caleta de fuste instead of Caleta it brings up the right map and photo.

What a great map - does anyone know if there is a similar one for Lanzarote?
This uses the corralejo Map but is centred on Lanzarote
Lanzarote (//%22http://www.fuerteventura-maps.com/corralejo.asp?=29.045897779376563,%20-13.613905906677246=10=Lanzarote=roadmap%22) - The 'Get Directions etc won't work but it can be used to share your location.
If there's enough interest I could do a lanzarote page where the directions etc would work.

The Flight Radar is fantastic- very addictive for anyone interested in planes, or anoraks. Gave myself a fright when I started looking at the number of planes in the air over Europe/UK. (Well done ATC for keeping them all away from each other!) I really must stop watching disaster films or doumentaries just before I fly............
