Title: TAKING DOGS BY FERRY FROM MAINLAND TO FUERTEVENTURA
Post by: the dean on October 17, 2018, 14:21:53 PM
Hi All,

Sorry if this has been done before ( I'm sure I've seen reference to it but on a search cant find anything !! )

Anyone had experience of getting Doggies from mainland to Fuerteventura...?? I could certainly do with any help and advice you can offer.

My recollection ( subject to correction ), is that the closest ferry ( none direct ? ) , is that there is a ferry from Cadiz to Gran Canary....and it takes animals. I have no idea about length of time ( but on a google I saw a figure of 40 hours ? )...no idea of cost per animal, cost per person ( neither for that ferry nor the one to Fuerteventura ) .....of which there is I think, a daily sailing ?....if so can you get it right to Rosario..??

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

The Dean.

Think you would do better on the Cadiz to Arrecife ferry. 31 hours and an easier transfer to Fuerteventura (bus or taxi from Arrecife to Playa Bianca and 35 minute ferry crossing to Corralajo.

One human passenger and one canine passenger (no car) is around £250.

Tom.

Thank you Logitechtom...Got a price for a sample date â,¬394...two adults 2 doggies.

Wasn't even aware there was such a ferry. ...to Arricife.....makes more sense...

But friends with doggies there tell me you cant take doggies on a bus...? ...If thats the case , it would be taxi  to Playa Blanca....then ferry to Rosario...
Anyway, another option. thanks for that.

The Dean.

Sorry Dean,
Bad news. Taxis will not take dogs. Even noted for refusing a guide dog.
Maybe if you transport them in a bench (dog cage). That worked for us.

Hi, we have just travelled over by ferry Huelva to Arrecife with Armas Ferries it took 27 1/2 hours then drive down to Playa Blanca and ferry across to Corralejo.  There  were plenty of dogs on the ferry, they have their own cages and exercise area on the top deck.

The ferry from Playa Blanca to Corralejo is complimentary.
