Title: Hi-Rise Development in Jandia
Post by: RVEEE on September 22, 2018, 16:49:28 PM
I was under the impression that no new developments were permitted on the island that were over three stories. However I see that there is a new building under construction at Jandia beach (opposite the tourist market area, Morro Jable end).

I didn't count the levels, but it's about 10 stories and dominates the location.

Has this ruling come to an end or is another Mayor due for investigation?

They are rebuilding the tower at the Robinson hotel.  It was demolished earlier this year, so they are replacing like with like.

Like Captain Sensible says. Like with like but a little more modern I expect, I hope :)

Also the "Plan General" for Pajara has finally been issued in provisional format and awaiting formal signoff so maybe there will be some more construction soon.

Ah, there you go. I've only been going back and fore for about 20 years so I'm not that familiar with the area....
