anyone recommend going to El cotillo in feb ?
we have been visiting the island for years and have only ever visited cotillo on numerous day trips to go to the lagoons
and quite fancy trying a week stay end of feb
will it be very quite this time of year

As to how busy it will be, probably relatively quiet after the Christmas/New Year visitors have returned. But saying that, El Cotillo now seems to be an all year round destination.

No problem. We are back in Cotillo January and will let you know what Cotillo is like then.
We came over for the first week of Feb this year (2017) in addition to our regular October pilgrimage and El Cotillo was open. We actually stayed at a Hoplaco apartment in Corralejo, as a trial, because we were considering 2-3 months stay each winter.
Twice we spent the day in El Cotillo. Pretty much everywhere was open as usual, plenty of people around. We spent most of each day on the beach, perfectly comfortable, picked up a fair bit of colour.
The town was certainly not quiet, but was a bit subdued, more like it was 3-4 years ago. Other towns seemed pretty much the same.

Have had a walk around Cotillo yesterday, and can say that although the weather was cold and breezy, all the restaurants, bars and cafes were open. Not a lot of people out and about, but looking at now many cars were around, I guess people had chosen to stay in due to the weather.

I remember Alan, of El Toston Harbour View fame, saying that February was the most hit or miss month for weather.
So we have hedged our bets and have booked last week of Feb into March '18
Staying at ''number 61'' Martin so will keep a weather eye out for your early morning photography on my way back from fishing.
