Are you able to go into the Origo Mare resort now? We walked there some years ago but there was a security guy on the gate restricting access. Looking on the net there seems to be quite a lot going on there now so would like to go and have a look round.
It is open and you can drive around.I find it to be a bit of a souless place as there are few facilities and no beach. It is owned by Centre Parcs who offer good deals- alright if you want a week of peace but a bit 'out on a limb'
I live in Lajares which is the nearest village to the resort but you need a car, taxi or shuttle bus to get there as Origo Mar which is five miles or so away.
Thanks. Not thinking of staying there, just interested in having a look around. So I know they will let us in this time anyway. ;D

A bit like Parque Holandes. a Whie Elephant built in the middle of nowhere.
Yes you can walk round and also wander into their main water park area, which is noisy, busy and full of people drinking vodkas as part of their All Inclusive deal :D

When we first saw it being built we though what a shame building by that lovely little beach comunity. Who on earth thought it was a good idea?

Had friends staying there in September...They said it was a really nice place for a base....The hire care was a god send ;)
You could always cycle daily into Lajares and get yourself fit. ;D
