Very good. There are a lot of brits that have sold up everything and possibly nothing to go back to so they can rest a bit eaisier now. I hope other EU countries are as accomadating and that Britain are as accomaditang to EU citizens working and living in Britain.
Anyone that takes the word of a spaniard at face value deserves what they get.

It was never going to be any other way. If Spain and the UK had tried using expats from both sides as pawns in the brexit game there would have been no winners either Spanish or British. Like the economy, there was a lot of scaremongering being bandied about this post referendum... and like the forecast economic collapse it has proved unfounded.
Calculator may well be right about the Spanish, but if it's going to cost them, which it will if they start an expat war, then they will toe the line no question.
As an outsider looking in it looks to me that Mainland Spain have more than their fair share of both Irish and British gangsters drug dealers and general scum bags. Ok they have money but who needs that problem.
Also France and Portugal seem to have a better quality of Brit.
Now this is a general observation and I`m not suggesting that any of the people on here or any of my British friends are anything but the best of people.
I think mainland Spain's problem is with East Europeans from what i have read. No doubting there's a few Brit villains about for sure but I can't imagine enough to interfere with their expat policy.

Sorry mate, you're wrong. I lived and worked in the Algarve for 3 years, Believe me, they have their fair share of Undesirable Brits.
I suppose anywhere they could fill up the yacht with contraband, go to sea drop your cargo and fly back with the cash is open to all kinds abuse.
