Title: Caleta Drug Dealers
Post by: wishilivedincaleta on September 18, 2017, 09:35:42 AM
Is there a drug scene in Caleta by any chance? Seems to be several people looking to sell drugs which seems to be allowed and possibly ignored by authorities? Or is it legal?

Why is it a stupid question?
I've been coming for 10 years but never really noticed the selling of drugs before.
And why the insult directed at me for asking a legitimate question?! Once this was a friendly forum, maybe it's the type of people who live in Caleta we need to question now and not the visitors?!

You make it sound as though Caleta is awash with drugs, I've been here 23 years and NEVER seen drug dealing in public view. If you want drugs you can get them if you look for them, just as you can in any town or resort in the World.
You're obviously going in the wrong places, PS, I don't live in Caleta.

I have not seen any drug dealing in the two years plus we have been here, In my last two years in the UK virtually every other day, and not in areas where yo might expect it, However we overlook some properties below us and one of them has a back yard may b3 6/7 Sq metres, and that looks like a Cannabis plantation ::) can o

Have a look around Atlantico in Corralejo and know what to look for:
A will make the sale and instructs you where and how late you have te be with the exact amount.
B collects the cash and run off into the crowd.
C will find you and slip you the goods. This way nobody has drug and money so hard to prove a sale.
There is a steady flow of hard and soft drugs on the islands. They picked up a dutch gang last week on GC who were importing cocaine.
Cannabis is almost legal. You can join a club which will grow for you the sort you prefer. You even get a permit to transport the stuff (under strict conditions)

It happens everywhere if you look etc.

We were in Playa Blanca recently and saw drug dealing right in front of a restaurant we were sitting in.

Out came a (clear)  plastic bag which in turn had small wraps that were handed out and money given in return etc
No major effort to hide what they were doing and all who looked could see exactly what was going on.

Kids running about too, we were disgusted.

If you want specifics there is a man (always same clothes) in the main town in Caleta and a few younger lads, walking around or hanging by CAfe Nero and Wild West.
It was just a general question as I have been asked on numerous occasions if I want any, and I don't exactly go looking for it nor think I generally look like someone who would want it. It just seems as though it is more widely available than in previous years.

Previously I wouldn't have said it was a chavvy place to visit, although maybe it is starting to follow that route. Time for a new holiday destination then maybe!

If you are looking for a holiday destination where drugs are not available , Outer Mongolia ?

Chavvy ?   Cocaine, most prevalent in the 40-50 year old high income, professional household.

Police were puling cars over in Costa Antigua last week. They had a dog with them, so I assume they were looking for drugs? Later, the same police were in Caleta, outside the Wild West. Didn't see any of the "usual" locals hanging around there that night!

You should have been here in July-August, you wouldn't have been far wrong.

I hope Ryanair don't mess up my flight home. I would hate to be stuck in Caleta with all those demon drug dealers. Of course if you got the right stuff you could fly home without a plane.

Sounds like you should probably just accept that this is 2017 and weed isn't really that big of an issue anymore.
Don't touch it personally myself and really not fussed with people that do use it to be totally honest.
Fuerteventura has a drugs trade just like any other place on earth, the difference between Fuerteventura though and the UK is that the dealers are most likely more brazen in the Canaries given the employment situation there.

It isn't a big deal, hardly one big enough to decide that you don't want to go there anymore, consider it a privilege that dealers think you're cool enough to sell to maybe?

I can honestly say in all my years that I have never been approached to see if I wanted  to purchase. Not really interested in it anyway but hey, if it floats your boat on you go. Just not my cup of coffee !!
