Title: Washing Machine
Post by: Wild Rover on September 17, 2017, 16:54:18 PM
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to dispose of a broken washing machine. Is it just a matter of leaving it next to the bins or is there a procedure?

If you are replacing it I know Electron will dispose of it for you, otherwise, yes just leave it next to the bins.

Trust me you will be fine, they understood me a couple of years ago no problem, and one or two speak passable English.

Sure it's now illegal to leave rubbish like, that at the bins. And sure I read somewhere you can arrange free collection via local ayuntamiento.

Can you recall where you read that please? I might have missed it, and I drove 2/3 miles into Caleta this morning, and passed 3/4 Boilers a fridge freezer and a load of old chairs.

There is supposed to be a crack down on improper waste. Items like washing machines are supposed to be collected by arrangement with the local Ayuntamiento, the same way as in the UK if you're lucky.
there is an article on the La Oliva website detailing the actions being proposed. there is a scrollable ( is that a word?)  box near the bottom left of the page and the article is in there.

I know where my old boiler went but Electron took the old washing machine away on delivery of a new one.
