Not that there's much to it anyway but is everywhere open? The restaurants by the harbour and the bars/cafes by the beach; is it all open as normal or do some of them not open/close early?
We normally go to Corralejo for our winter break but we stayed in Cotillo in the summer and we've quite fallen for it.

Cotillo runs pretty much normal for 51 weeks a year (Christmas week being the exception). Sure, some restaurants close up a little earlier and a few close down for a month or two, but there are plenty still open and ready to serve you.
My only concern would be being here for Christmas and expecting to eat out on Christmas day - there are only a small number of places open on Christmas day, and you would need to book in advance.
October, the weather is fabulous. November can be a bit wet. December is still warm enough for shorts but some days you need trousers. Jumper in evening needed.

As a regular winter visitor to Cotillo I would endorse everything Logitechtom has posted - the overwhelming majority of the Cotillo restaurants, cafés and bars will be open as usual with a few doing Christmas day if you book and several doing New Year - again book in advance.

I hope the camper vans have gone by then. They are ruining it at the moment, such a shame. >:(
Regarding the Campervans: Banning them from the beach (although an increasing number are now encroaching, and there appears to be no enforcement) was such a simple solution to a big problem. Unfortunately they didn't foresee that the campers would move a few yards from beach to road!!!
It has made such a mess of the streets and in the area between Sottovento Restaurant and Marfolin Apartments, you now have a Vista of end to end campervans and have lost sight of the beach and sea!!
Let's hope it gets sorted soon as they were far less disruptive on the beaches.

I'm not sure why they'd want to park there when there's so much room up by the lagoons, etc. I'd have thought that owning a campervan was about getting away from it not being in the thick of it.
On a more general note; Fuerte from the inside seems laid back and peaceful, a haven for middle-class hippies almost. Fuerte from the outside looks like a political correctness convention. There always seems to be somebody who wants something banned or is complaining about something that has been banned that shouldn't have been.
There's no offence meant to anyone on here but at the top of our road back here in Brum last week, a plethora of caravans turned up and totally consumed the green area where I normally walk my dog. They left after about 4 days leaving behind them a couple of skips worth of rubbish, not to mention 2 propane gas bottles. No doubt, as with other times they've visited the crime rates for thefts and break-ins have coincidentally gone up too.
We've all got our gripes I suppose but a bunch of beardies sipping green tea by the side of the beach isn't really that much to put up with, is it?

The number of campervans around Cotillo has been reducing fairly quickly since last weekend. Can't say they annoyed me at all. I certainly didn't notice any sort of antisocial behaviour.

No but I guess you're referring to the encampment at Monkspath last week? Apparently there was a big gypsy funeral in the area last week which is why there were so many around.
