Title: Anyone know where Morro del Cuchillo is??
Post by: Archer on February 24, 2017, 08:43:11 AM
Morro del Cuchillo Negro. The proposed site for the new wind farm. Apparently 50-odd properties/land owners affected by the farm and transmission system.
Anyone know the location?

I've never heard of it.  It must be quite big though if 50 properties are affected.

between the municipalities of Tuineje and Pájara there is a PDF file published by local government. It may be found on this link http://www.boe.es/boe/dias/2017/02/23/pdfs/BOE-B-2017-11431.pdf
Albeit written in Spanish pages 2, 3 and 4 contain cadastral references of affected areas.

One of the books I have mentions Filo de Cuchillo Negro which is a crest on the walking route from Cardón village towards Pájara. It's near the Morro de Moralito which at least is marked on some maps. I'd guess the location will be somewhere in the hill country there.

I found the references on Sedecatastral. The turbines are going on the hill to the south of Cardon, mainly on land owned by the Padilla family, and the transmission lines are going through 40-odd properties in Marco Sanchez and Rosa los James.
The turbines will be over 70metres high with 114metre dia blades. Pretty big I should say.
Previous talk is there are more to come.
