Hi ,
We're over next week , buying a few things whilst we have a car for a few days. .
Don't really know PDR .
Would Ideal be the best place to purchase a drill ?
We're in Caleta
Thanks all
Yes, they have a selection.
The ferreteria's also sell them, like the one in El Matorral or Saavedra
The ferreteria up the hill in Caleta in the monticastillo centre sells drills if you want to save yourself a trip to Pto.
I got mine in Ideal PdR a few years ago
Saavedra is by far the cheaper and has a great choiice. As well as anything else you need
Caza, if you haven't been to Saavedra before, most of the items don't have prices on but, if you look around, particularly on the pillars around the building, they have bar code scanners on the wall.
Simply take one of the items and scan the bar code and the price comes up on the screen. :D
Hi Deso ,
Can you tell me where saavedra is ?
Thanks to all who posted .
Hi caza,
If you google it there is a map. It's off the fv10 coming into PDR. Cross the bypass & its in a couple of streets on the right. HTH
Thanks Spitfire58 ,

Have you found it Caza?
Not search for it yet , will do later
I've been asleep 😴Deso ,!!
Thanks again ,
Got my drill from Saavedra, its a great hardware store well worth a visit, customer service excellent they exchanged an item no problem for us :D
Follow Deso's tip re bar code scanners it took me about 10 minutes to work out what to do to find prices. Last time I was over I noticed they have introduced a scanner for certain items in the Spar in the Atlantico centre.
Finding it is much easier as they have put up a lot of new signs on the building since December.
I'm the kind of "gal" who prefers a visit to Saavedra to shopping for clothes! LOL! Great Ferrateria and as previously said very helpful staff!
Found it Deso !
Think I'll leave my husband to play with his toys in diy dept , and I'll go and take a wander and see what emmi is talking about .
Could be a long morning of shopping and a lot of â,¬s spent on the plastic !
Thanks all , have a great day .
Excellent, they do have quite a lot of homewares Caza, so you should be OK for a while. :D
The first time I visited Saavedra it was before the new unit was built, they had a couple of shops a little further down the same street.
I was puzzled at the lack of prices and whilst I was mooching I kept hearing 'beeps'. Then I noticed someone waving items around in front of an old wooden cabinet with a glass front and a bar code scanner and screen inside.
The penny dropped.
They put the old one in the new store when it first opened but I don't think it's there anymore.
They have quite a few bar code readers scattered around the walls of the new shop
Ok , many thanks PHO .

Thanks Can ,
I'm making a list for my husband ,
He better fully charge it as the list is getting longer :o
A much better choice in Saavedra. I went to buy one in Ideal a few months ago and all they had was a big display of expensive Bosch ones.
Totally agree. Saavedra is better and cheaper than Ideal for most things, and with more choice.
Been in to Savadeer a couple of times this week. Very easy to find & a great selection and prices are good to. Will be my first port of call now instead of ideal. The Ferreteria in el Matorral is good to
