Hi, We are in the process of buying a property on Vista Golf 2 in Caleta. We are going to need 2 new White upvc double glazed patio doors. Can anyone recommend a company?
I was told that UVPC does not wear well in the climate - too hot, so doubt if you will find a supplier on the Island. Most people have aluminium.

Hi Emmi, Thanks for your reply. When we were walking around the complex we noticed a lot of the properties had Upvc conservatories fitted that looked fantastic we just did not have time to speak with anyone. Also we had a place in Turkey for 12 years which had upvc throughout and we never had a problem with summer temperatures topping 50 degrees. But I take your point.
Thanks Juggler I will try and find him. I have found a company on Lanzarote called Milnroe Plastics. They are going to quote and they do work on Fuerteventura but really could do with some comparisons. But I have seen only good reviews about them. Their lead times are 2 months!!!
Wild Rover most of the properties I have seen including my own property have aluminium windows and doors. What emmi suggested was correct
UPVC moves in the heat with extreme temperature and doors in particular can expand in the heat making closing or loccking a bit difficult until they cool down.

Kenny....just visited the site that you listed, it talks about the glass not the framework
The following taken from a website discussing UVPC in hot climates :
"However, PVC/Vinyl will eventually "melt" in a hot environment. Recycled PVC will do so far faster than virgin PVC, but even the latter will eventually sag enough that opening and closing the window will be tricky. Assume maybe 15-20 years. Aluminium will last indefinitely. That and the price are typically the two big selling points of that material.
In short, neither has a true advantage from a soundproofing perspective (the glass does quite a bit, though) but PVC is a better choice from an insulation standpoint if you are willing to replace the window every 15 years or so. If you don't care about the insulation value and don't want to replace the window, then aluminium is the way to go."
The aluminium frames in Fuerte are powder coated with white finish, so they do look like UVPC and I suspect the conservatories the OP has seen from a distance are not UVPC, or if they are, then they won't have much longevity.

We had some windows fitted by Lorenzo at a very reasonable price, the were aluminium
I was warned against getting UPVC also and got Aluminium Patio doors.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread and to anyone yet to add to it. I have taken on board everyone's comments, and Helen from Just 4 Sales has contacted Lorenzo on our behalf so just waiting for quotes to come back. Hopefully we will be able to move forward.

Hi DaveW, Does Lorenzo have people that speak English? I have tried to speak with them on the phone hence Helen at Just 4 Sales having to translate my email to them.
I thought they had someone at the office who can speak English although have not spoken to them myself. When I organised my windows he was fitting some at my neighbour's and Lorenzo could speak some English. He has done a lot of work, mainly gates, on the golf course properties for English owners.
Also try ENRIQUE RIVERO alu.finisterre@hotmail.com speaks very good English and the work was first class
