The dirt track\road between Corralejo\El Cotillo can you get a small car down it all the way? How long does it take?

I`m told it is possible Jill, indeed some people have done it but not adviseable apparantly. If its a hire car your insurance will not cover you, as its classed as `off road`. The track is rough and sandy in parts, so another obstacle to be aware of.
However, its blessed with beautiful views and something very different to do..Just mind those `dune buggies`that use that road between Corralejo and Cotillo every day..Mind you you`ll hear them long before you see them ;D
It can be done fairly easily with a regular small hire car if you are feeling brave as the hire car insurance isn't valid and it would be a real pain if the car broke.
It's a bit bumpy in places, the worst stretch being between Majanicho and Corralejo where there isn't that much to see. It's a fair old trek too, maybe 20 mins to Majanicho and 15 mins more to Corrie.
Less stressful is to just do the first half mile from Cotillo which most people do, and then another day do the first half mile to the left of Majanicho which is also easy and takes you to the main beach up there. There's not that much to see to the right of Majanicho.

I have done what you have said gone about a mile down each one, but never been brave enough to try going the whole way.
maybe get a 4x4 next time and have a go,
if you take it nice and easy it's not a problem, the worst part i always find is just beyond the wind turbine's Corro end, it's not to bad after that, be adventureus.
Use it a lot between Majanicho and Corralejo its very good apart from the section by the wind turbines but still very doable, from Majanicho to El Cotillo is a bit rougher and have grounded out but it was in a Panda.
Lots to see and few nice beaches, watch out for vans loaded with surf gear.
Quads and buggy tours use the road but you can overtake them.
I have done it numerous times. Some lovely views and beaches but beware swimming as some strong currents. First time I did it was maybe15 years ago. Less folk used it and was very dodgy especially nearer to lighthouse end as there was lots of deep sand dips. It is just a case of keeping your eyes peeled and choosing the best line. Faster speed is often more comfortable.
We have been walking this path for years. We walked it twice a few weeks ago and from Corralejo to Majanico is the best road surface, after that it's quite rough in parts. We always find lots of nuts, bolts and various other bit that have fell off vehicles. Lovely beaches and views along the way but double up on the Fixadent.
In other words: If it's a hire car forget it. The Hire Company will jump on you like a ton of bricks if it goes wrong.
