Hi everyone, does any one long how long it takes for bedroom furniture to arrive if i ordered from ikea, or is there any other place i can get a bed , mattress and bedroom furniture from.
Thanks
Edem just along the road from Ikea has a good price range of stock in their showroom and deliver. Toberato in Rosario on same road as Ideal sell budget furniture and deliver free all over the island.
As long as any items are in stock would expect delivery within a week.
Very good service but all deliveries cost â,¬25 so best to get one big delivery.

or go to Edam who deliver free
Agree with other posts. I got stuff from all three chollis mentioned on my last trip. IKEA was ordered two was before & ready for pickup. The other two just walk in & buy if they have stock. Deem did say 20 days to get mattresses but then "discovered" they had them when I wanted immediately

Funnily enough the sane thing happened to us they wanted 3 weeks to supply the mattress we wanted, so we chose another slightly cheaper one, but when it was delivered it came with the original mattress, I went in and asked how much extra we owed them and was to;d nada. Imagine that happening in The UK
I favour EDEM ,
Very helpful and very good servic .
Had very good experience with IKEA recently, after having to replace all my furniture as a result of an unwanted intruder we ordered all new furniture online and had delivery within a few days, paid â,¬25 for delivery of 2 x double beds plus mattresses, 2 lockers, L shaped couch with pull out bed, mattress for a fold up bed and some other incidentals, then paid â,¬129 for them to come to my apt. And assemble everything so when we arrived everything as ready for us. Would reccomend them.
All organised from Ireland

Spitfire, the intruder was caught on a glue trap, a 4 legged fiend with a little ng tail, basically got up through the toilet bowl, gnawed at the lid, eventually managed to get it open but then of course couldn't get out so proceeded to pi$$ and potty poo poo all over the place, beds, couches, pillows, cushions counter top, electric appliances ....... you can get the picture, and guess what my insurance didn't want to know anything about it. If it had been a human being now that would have been a different matter, cost me in the region of 4 grand including rent on an apt. For a week in October when we discovered it.
Actions now in place with a lock on the toilet bowl lid, plus a 5l bottle full of sand on the lid.
CTM - how awful for you! Imagine if you had been in the bathroom at the time, might have been something else that got damaged!!
Typical of insurance companies though.

That is terrible. I had assumed a two legs but even worse as you have had. Never heard of that before. I covered our bidet & toilet bowl with cling film & duct tape when I left but wouldn't have stopped that wee bugger anyway. As usual insurance has only limited use !!!

If you seen the gnaw marks in the little plastics things that support the toilet seat on the bowl, then cling film would not keep these guys out. The big problem for us was that no one had been in the place since May so the water had evaporated out of the toilet bowl during the summer and therefore for restriction of water for the rat. Apparently rats will only travel through water as long as they can see where they are going. We now have arrangements made to have the toilet flushed on a weekly basis going forward and a good slug of bleach down it every month.

A couple of drops of olive oil stops the evaporation.
Not only for toilets but also for showers, sinks etc. No evaporation => no sewer smell
Can the Man. Sorry to hear about your intruder. This has got to be everyone's worst nightmare.
More concerning is that the insurance did not pay up.
Are you prepared to name them? As we were told our policy covered just about every eventuality.
What cover do you need for vermin or insect infestation??

Hi Archer, my insurance is with BANSABADELL SEGUROS GENERALES which was supplied by Sol Bank in the Atlantico SC, and underwritten by Zurich.
I called the 24 hour help line from Ireland gave them the policy no. and they came back to me and said I was not covered. I subsequently went in to the Sol Bank when I was in Caleta only to be told We are not an insurance company, we are a bank, you must contact the insurance company here is the number. I have decided I will not be renewing my insurance business with Sol Bank, and will seek insurance elsewhere.

I had a similar experience when trying to get a quote off Sabadel, they wrote and asked did I need a quote as i was a valued Customer ::) so went in they gave me a quote that was â,¬95 more than Direct line, so I said that is a joke, got a shrug of the shoulders, and" we are not an insurance company" OK I know that, "then why try to sell me insurance? " "It is company policy" at that point I left before i Made the obvious retort.
