Title: Locksmith
Post by: spitfire58 on December 20, 2016, 14:08:40 PM
Hi Guys,
I had to send a set of keys to our solicitor which do not seem to have arrived. Sent by tracked Royal Mail but Spanish postal system does not seem to track as well as UK. Does anyone know of a reliable locksmith out there who could open a door & change a lock barrel ? Thanks in advance

Might be worth waiting if you can. I used a Royal Mail tracked service that stated 1day UK, 3 days Europe, 7 days rest of world. Took 8 days to get here. Tracker showed it in Madrid for ages, but it in fact went Heathrow, Madrid, Las Palmas, Fuerteventura. All international Royal Mail goes out of Heathrow with no direct flight to Canary Islands, hence the route. It wasn't Christmas when I used it, so add a couple of days for that.
If you can not wait, where is your property and will advise re locksmith.

I've had stuff held at Barajas (Madrid) airport for two weeks, then sent on to Gran Canaria for 4 days before finally being sent to Rosario. Then again I've had small packets arrive in 4 days.

PS, re your keys, Andy's yer man. He's in Triqui.

You can never rely on it thats the problem.
A couple of months ago I bought some electronic gear fro a friend who does not have an Ebay account
.
China to Madrid = 9 days.

Madrid to Las Palmas = 17 days.

Las Palmas to Rosario = 5 days.

Rosario to me  = 2 days.

Me to my mate = 12 mins

Don't forget it's a packet so may attract the attention of customs in Las Palmas. May add a few more day.
Much quicker Fuerte to UK. Five days Correos Certified Express. Obviously things will get worse after Brexit as the UK becomes isolated.
