Title: Smelly Cheese
Post by: GSD Girl on December 10, 2016, 13:33:08 PM
Can anyone recommend a good smelly cheese sold on the island. Epoisses, Stinking Bishop, Munster are amongst our favourite but haven`t really come across a smelly Spanish one. We used to be able to get quite a pungent Esrom from some of the old supermarkets but have only seen it prepacked in latter years and its no where near as tasty. As there is only two of us we can only buy so much on trial and error. A good recommendation would be very useful.   :D

Cheers, will definitely give that one a try.  Love blue cheese but still looking for something soft and oozing, the type you have to kept in an air tight container and is fighting to get out.

Fiance Des Pyrenees  (which I have never seen in Fuerteventura) is a rind washed goats cheese which is quite smelly, but your right, goats cheese is normally quite mild and smells of errrrrrrr...goats :)

Where can I get that from? Will give it a try. We are staying in Cotillo but will be travelling around to most places.

I bought some Creux de Normandie in Lidl. It is pretty runny and quite smelly.

I was planning to go to Rosario to get Mr. GSD's christmas presents. No point in carrying them over. Will pop in then. Thanks for that. ;)

Sorry Smelly you can't get it here. If you nip over to Catalonia you can find it in the markets.

Mercadona do a blue French cheese by Cantorel, simply 'Azul, blue de France' in a sealed 250 gram pack. It's cheap, and surprisingly good. My wife detests the smell, and I have to seal it in two bags in the fridge if I'm to avoid it being thrown out.....I'd recommend it!

Thanks gattaca66. Off to Merc tomorrow to do Christmas Shop. Will give it a try. Know how the wife feels - you either do or don't. Bluefox, good idea but if it aint ment to be smelly it just goes hard and dry :(
