Title: Schools in Fuerteventurs
Post by: Gordon13 on November 01, 2016, 21:50:03 PM
We are a family planning to move to Fuerteventura next summer.  We have 2 children, who will be 9 and 6. Can anyone recommend good Spanish schools? We don't speak much Spanish at the moment but we are taking lessons and we hope the kids will pick it up better when we get there. Is it true that no one speaks English in the schools?  Can anyone recommend any good areas to live? It would need to be a busy tourist area for my husband's business.

Thanks for your help.

Carron

Which part of Fuereventra were you thinking of living?
The schools only teach in Spanish but obviously the kids chat in English.. they are very multi cultural and the younger they are the easier they pick it up.  :)

Thanks for your reply. We are quite open at the moment as to where to live, as we don't know many places. It has to be somewhere busy and touristy for my husband's business. We recently holidayed in Corralejo. If my husband's shop was here, we could live in a quieter place nearby and he could travel to work. I think the most important thing is to find the best school and live near there.  I have a few questions:

1). Which school would you recommend?

2). We are planning to come and stay during the summer. I have heard the cut off dates to register for schools is in April. We can't register until we have an address. Will we still be able to get into the school of our choice if we don't apply in time?

3). Which busy place would you recommend for my husband's work, eg, Corralejo or somewhere else like it?
