Yes, I do it all the time, what do you think is a problem?
When collecting passengers you might have to use the paid car park.
When I did it the cost was a few of the European cents. Doing the same thing at Edinburgh costs over five of the British pounds...
Not sure if you still do but you used to get 30 mins free parking at Fue airport.. I just paid £9 for 32 mins at Stansted Airport picking a friend up (it would have been£4.50 for 30 mins but we were just 2 mins over that >:( )

Dunc it is only £1 coin thrown into the exit collection point. You must have been longer than five mins to incur additional costs like that at Edinburgh.

Be warned though, don't dilly dally because if you are more than 5 minutes they will sting you for £3. I dropped my family off, unloaded the car got the Grandkids out of their car seats, loaded the trolley and was the asked for £3.....which I'd didn't have!
the other day i picked up a friend from a complex a taxi drew up as i met the people , he made it plain that he wasnt happy followed me to my car stopped stared at me then left

Dropped my mother in law off at Manchester Airport earlier this year, waited with her to go through to customs, just under 3 hours cost £18, would have been cheaper to have got a taxi..

If you are talking about the airport here on Fuerteventura, there are parking spaces which are free, for I believe 15 mins, but nobody appears to pay attention to that, I have picked up and dropped off Family and friends 6 times in the last year, and am doing it again next Wednesday, with never a problem.

I've dropped off in the £1 zone okay. The problem is I haven't been picking up anyone up who I trusted to find their way to the drop-off zone quickly enough to get off with cheating the system and picking them up there....
As a variation of the original question on collecting passengers at Fuerteventura, if you have a hire car can you use the car hire area?
I just left my daughters car at East Midlands Airport for 12 hours, cost £33.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surely you can't be strapped for a few cents, a fine is â,¬100.
You can't stop and drop off/pickup where passengers depart/arrive through the main doors.
If you go in the car park (ticket in the slot) it costs about 10 cents for the time you drop off, maybe a little more if you're waiting for a flight. On Wednesday I waited 35 minutes for a flight, and it cost 50 cents. The first 1/2 hour is NOT free.
I do it regularly when going to the pharmacy there, 10 cents.

Yes, I've done that if I know that I will be a while.
Re: charges, at Birmingham you have to pay £1 or 2 Euros for a trolley and you don't get the money back.

Yes if the hire car is Cigar I have done it myself the barrier in the hire car area automaticallylifts
I've picked up passengers a couple of times at UK airports; obviously it's difficult to know the exact time to be ready.
I just park somewhere convenient a mile down the road and wait for a telephone call to tell me to come in to the pick-up area.

Well, the Taxi Rank is about 2 miles at the other end of the Airport from where the Pharmacy is. I go there regularly for my prescriptions, I was there this morning, just over 5 minutes, 10 cents.

I've always thought that the layout is all wrong. There are two arrival entrances, the one for International arrivals is the furthest away from the car park as they could have made it. I suppose parking by the taxis as you do will be a lot easier in future, but knowing me, I'll get nabbed :o

Well you could ask your hire company if you could park the car in their own part of the car park, then it would be free or you could park it in the normal car park and it's 9e per day.
I have twice parked a hire car (Payless) for 7 days before without a problem, no questions asked.
We pay the few cents to use the car park when dropping off or picking up but it mounts up if you want to leave a car a week or so. We've switched to using Guardauto.es. They collect the car and drive it away. When you get back they're either there waiting or they arrive within a few minutes, and the car is clean! Far cheaper and it's kept inside so isn't covered in dust and hot hot hot!
