Title: Transferwise - changes?
Post by: gattaca66 on October 04, 2016, 14:11:21 PM
I always use Transferwise to move pounds to euros, but doing a transfer today I noted that the pages had changed, using a drop down box. I double checked by entering an incorrect password - rejected - then the correct one, accepted. I've had none of the usual flood of emails from them about the transfer, although their site shows the transfer completed, within a couple of hours, but not yet showing in my account....

Anyone else noted changes and lack of usual emails before I start chasing them/panicking?!

I  transferred money about a week ago, and nothing had changed, except that a transfer made before 12:00 normally appears in our account the fo;;owing morning, this did not arrive until 15:30

I last did a transfer on 8th Sept and the pages are still the same now. A drop down pop up appears when you click on 'sign in', gives you the option to sign in with username and password or via facebook etc.

I don't think there is any need to panic just yet, unless the money ends up in my account.   ;D

Many thanks for the replies, very helpful! For info, my money arrived in my Spanish account at the close of the banking day, great sigh of relief. It does appear that Transferwise no longer send their string of emails updating you of the process. I always felt they were a bit OTT, but for them to suddenly cease without warning or notice was concerning. Rubbish rate today, as well, but that's the market, not Transferwise!

I actually got a reasonably detailed and informative reply to my enquiry from a Transferwise - I'd expected something automated, sonwas pleaantly surprised. It seems they had updated some software, and fir whatever reason the usual emails were not going out in a timely fashion. No effect on the actual movement or security of the money, just the emails. Being sorted out, they say, with apologies. Nice to deal with a business that responds promptly, personally, and is not 'faceless'!
