Title: Roadside Parking
Post by: KWC on September 13, 2016, 07:45:43 AM

I'm sure I read this year or maybe last year that the police were coming down hard on roadside parking between Corralejo and the two Riu hotels at the dunes?

There were signs there saying no parking, litter etc and yet there were hundreds of cars parked just off the road.
I didn't want to risk a fine so parked where the wider designated parking areas where to be sure.

Anyone else see this and/or is it now acceptable to park before the Hotels at the side of the road?

The parking is getting worse by the Riu hotels. Never had people parking on the bend into the hotel, its a blind corner and cars and busses that enter the hotel have to come wide and I`m always anxious as I turn at the bend, as often Spanish drivers coming out just put their foot to the floor and come wide if something is blocking the road. There are yellow lines on that bend but nobody seems to take note of them, time to get one of the 3 police services down there to stop the anarchy.

Incidentally about time that the road was resurfaced, some of the holes especially on the bend are getting bigger. If someone on a bike/motor bike/goes over them in the dark going to be an incident. Also noticed that more and more people from the hotels walk at night along that road in dark clothes and with  no path they walk on the road and being in holiday mode have no thought or care about their own safety.
