Post by: Island Beach on September 12, 2016, 23:00:27 PM
Can anyone say, who has retired to Fuerteventura, what life is like ?  Price of living ? Doctors ? English schools ? friendliness?  . did you ship your stuff/car by container ? was it pricey? if car is certain age, is there no tax's to pay ?      I take it all homes have a septic tank, is it cheap to have it emptied ? and how often ?     any place where us ex pats meet up ??

My personal views on some of your questions:

Q what life is like ? A as everywhere, incl the UK, life is what you make it
A Doctors ? A as an EU state pensioner you get access to good Spanish state healthcare
Q  English schools ? A For a retiree??? None on FV; schools are Spanish
Q friendliness?  A depends on the effort you make to integrate
Q did you ship your stuff/car by container ? was it pricey? if car is certain age, is there no tax's to pay ?  A gift/sell/dump most things - 75% won't be needed; forget the car esp if RHD; expensive nightmare to bring
Q   any place where us ex pats meet up ?? A some bars attract them; best avoided IMO
